Dinner date at Oz

Last night Jeff and I had a dinner date (it had been too long) at Oz Kafe on Elgin Street. We had not eaten there before but had heard good things about it so we were stoked to give it a try. And we loved it (food, service...all was good). Unfortunately we were stuffed and unable to fathom ordering dessert (GASP!) but here is what we did manage to scarf down with pleasure.

White sangria. The perfect summer drink. We must try and replicate this!

We shared cheese dreams - Balderson old cheddar melted over our homemade bacon on baguette. Oh yessssssss!

I had the pan-roasted steelhead trout - potato & cucumber salad with pickled onion, griled asparagus, preserved lemon marmalade. This was the PERFECT summer meal. (Too bad it wasn't actually that warm out)

My husband ordered (of course) the "steak& caesar" - cast-iron seared thick-cut AAA O'Brien farms beef sirloin, caesar salad, smoked mashed potatoes, homemade BBQ sauce & jus. He loved it. :)
