The home of a god

A little over a month ago The Wall Street Journal featured the home of my all-time favourite clothing designer, Rick Owens. I had to share it because, well, he's a genius, and this home is raw and gritty and dark and a dream space. It's an industrial loft space that was the former French Socialist Party headquarters on the Place du Palais Bourbon, a few blocks south of the Seine in Paris. Rick tore out a bunch of office cubicle, insulation tiles and other gross stuff and left the concrete floors and other elements in their raw form. It's perfectly glunge (glamourous-grunge) which is the term he coined for his style. Alot of the furniture was designed by Rick - like his massive felt-covered plywood bed, and his library features rugs repurposed from surplus military blankets. I just love this man and his creativity. His home may be a bit more unfinished than most people would prefer but wow, the potential!
Now I'm off to scour the internet for deals on his clothing!
