Sidedoor

Val, a friend of mine from work, gave me a gift card to a restaurant in the Byward Market called Sidedoor that has an "Asian Fusion" type menu. It was VERY good. Here's what we ate, and we almost needed someone to roll us out the door when we were done. (Thanks Val!)
SIDEDOOR spiked lemonade | tequila | fresh lemon | vanilla bean syrup
Chinkiang pulled pork tacos
spicy beef tacos
salt & pepper calamari w/ chili vinegar sauce
russet potato frites w/ tasty sauce

pork belly braised in a master stock w/ mango salad, cashews, chili lime caramel {oh dear gawd this was heavenly}
lychee mojito | white rum | lime | mint | lychee | soda
shortcake | vodka | vanilla bean syrup | lemon | crushed strawberries
olivia chocolate mini donuts

Thank you for sharing your photos and "gourmet experience" at Union 613. My husband and I enjoyed it as well! Especially the Yardbird and Gumbo dishes.
Once again, thank you!
p.s. We ended up sitting at the bar next to Mark (the author and creator of Ottawa Foodies Blog/Website). It was a pleasant and fun experience. He wanted to know why we chose Union 613... and we said it was thanks to you. He saved your "Kim's Page" link. The staff at Union 613 (which we shared our story with - how we ended up there - wanted to thank you as well).
Zaz :)
:-) that's awesome Zaz! Thanks for spreading the blog love!

Looks like there was enough for more than two.
