Hardwood floors

I am not very good at making decisions. Especially when it comes to something as important as the flooring that will be ALL OVER my house. It turns out I'm really picky too (and so is Jeff). Because I'm planning on having predominantly white, black and grey decor I figured I needed something other than the typical brown. We found 3 that we really like, and they happen to be grey, which should work quite well...with the furniture we don't yet have. (LOL). These are in order of most smitten with (the first 2 are oak, the last is maple).

Now if we can just get the company to give us a sweet deal in exchange for some blog love....

the second one has the most longevity which is important for floors that will be throughout your entire house...best of luck!

Love the second one... looks like it's wirebrushed which is sooo practical, and classic in my opinion. Oak gets such a bad rap, but the grain is gorgeous when used correctly. The first one is pretty, but I worry that hand-planing will be sooo 2008-10 in a few years. The maple is pretty too, but is flatter, so will not hide dents/scratches/pet hair/drips as well. There you go.. that's my two bits! Loving following your progress!

Love your choices, can't go wrong with any of them.

I vote for the 2nd one too! Just took a hardwood installation course yesterday and they were very particular at stressing the importance of proper humidity (and that maple does the worst with anything outside 45%-55%, while oak does the best). And I personally LOVE the grain.

FIRST ONE!
I've never seen it before, and it's absolutely stunning! The tones are gorgeous and amazing and wow, I wish I had them! The second one is pretty but a lot more people have it, and it's a lot more basic. LOVE the first one.
