The best wedding gift ever

Maybe it was a couple months back when Jo one day sent me a few links to Moroccan wedding blankets and asked me which one I liked best. I thought about it for 20 seconds or so and then IM'ed her back saying "DON'T YOU DARE BUY ME A GODDAMN MOROCCAN WEDDING BLANKET AS A WEDDING GIFT". Sure enough she freaking DID. She sent it to my twin sister's house thinking it would maybe be a surprise. Which I told her it wasn't because I GUESSED WHAT IT WAS. Doesn't take a genius to figure out a wedding blanket is the perfect gift for someone getting married. So Jo being the impatient friend she is, agreed I should just have it now, and my sister brought it over last night. It is absolutely incredible and one of the things I now must grab if my house is on fire. (My other hand will grab the 8 cats). I cannot EVER use it on my bed because I HAVE EIGHT CATS. I would never be able to get the fur off of it and it's not something you toss into the washing machine. I think I may mount a bar on the wall (maybe over my bed) and drape it over that, in plain view, where cats cannot lay. In the meantime I needed to take some photos so I lay it out on the bed and screamed every time a cat came near.

(P.S. She got it from Cassandra Karinsky of the amazing shop Muskelil).

I'm so glad you like it :):):) Seeing that I can't be there I wanted to get you something with meaning ... a wedding blanket for your wedding day. I know it is going to be such a special day. I'll be sitting at home in Australia drinking lots of bottles of champagne to celebrate. A big thank you to Cassandra. I never thought buying something from Morocco would be so easy and so wonderful.

P.S. If there is ever a divorce (hush my mouth!!!!!) you must send it back to me :P

Kim,

I'm thinking that the wedding must be coming up anyday now. So, I jsut wanted to send you my very best wishes. Your outfit is lovely. I too eschewed the whole big white dress thing and have never reretted being myself on the big day.

How are you finding the time to still blog?

All the best -

Oh yes, and I meant to say beautiful blanket!

I would lock the cats out of the bedroom. That is a beautiful gift!

Jo - in that case it's yours. :)

Thanks Michele - the wedding is next Saturday. How I have found time to blog I'm not sure. Luckily the wedding is going to be fairly small and not fancy so not too many preparations are required. I still have a bunch of stuff to do though...and I will be MIA from the blog for a couple days before and after the wedding.

WyGal, I took the door off my bedroom a while back because it got in the way. LOL. Plus closed doors drive the cats bonkers.

It's gorgeous! And, it looks fantastic on the bed. Beware of the cats though, you're right. Keep them away!!! I think it would look great over the bed too! Congrats again and have a blast on wedding day!

Omigosh! Talk about your thoughtful and perfect gifts. I adore it! I've always wanted one. I think it looks so great with your Kwan Yin lamp. Kinda of an ethnic vibe, but also kinda neutral and textury. Love, love, love it.

SO pretty! What a really, truly great gift. Aw.
Can't you just train the cats not to go on the bed?
(Ha ha, that's a pre-wedding joke. I'm a dog person with cat allergies, but even I know you can't train a cat to do squat!)
Happy nuptials! I know the day will be perfect (except for going way too fast). Enjoy!

OMG. That's all I can summon from my brain right now.
