My wedding dress
Some people noticed in the comments on my previous post about my hunt for a wedding dress that I managed to find one. Well, Jeff and I are far too pooped tonight to do any more moving of his stuff to my house so while we waited for pizza to arrive I decided to run upstairs and snap some shots of my dress. I found it one Friday after work when Jeff and I went to the Rideau Centre mall looking for a wedding band for him. I decided to check out a few stores for a dress and found one cute one at BCBG but it wasn't wowing me like a wedding dress should so we stopped at Holt Renfrew (the Canadian version of Bergdorfs) and I tried on about 6 dresses. One of them I fell in love with. It's adorable and totally my cuppa. And it was only $438. It fits me perfectly. Now I just need to find some shoes that won't get stuck in the grass in my parent's backyard (the wedding location)....

Now I'm really tearing up. Pass the tissues. Oh and it reminds me I must arrange for your wedding present to be sent :P The one you don't want me to buy. You know that one :)
I LOVE IT!!!! Totally funky and cute... :-)
What about flats?
I can recommend a wonderful NYC shop which sells online.
Pretty Ballerinas is its name - www.prettyballerinas.com
The dress is gorgeous.
Jo, save your money for a freaking house.
Thanks Jodi!
Maura, thanks for the tip! I'll for sure check out that shop.
Thank you! It's lovely. And who knew a little "Well?" comment would work so well. You're going to look gorgeous.
Love the dress!
Kim, maybe you should add a bohemian touch and go barefoot! Seriously, though, the dress is absolutely stunning.
Kim that dress is sooo divine, also very funky. Black flats or sandals would be great, no panty hose. You are going to look fabulous!
I love it! It's very eclectic and very original! Congratulations!
Thanks everyone! I can't wait to wear it. :)
Love it...
You are a far smarter woman than I...as you see I got married in a family members backyard....yes had the stunning heels and yes spent the entire night sinking into the grass....think it is a wedge or flat situation, cheers Katherine PS the dress is fantastic..
Oh, I just realized that even if the cats can't make the wedding that the chipmunks might be in attendance! How very Cinderelly of you.
That dress is beautiful! After visiting umpteen bridal shops I bought my wedding dress at Holts, too.. It was white with the a barely there blush lining.. I'm still trying to find an excuse to wear it again (12 years later)
PERFECTION (dress).
Who will notice your feet when you're wearing that dress!?
Ballet flats or strappy silver flats, just be sure they are comfortable (so maybe not the strappy silver).
(chipmonks, ha!)
:-) I cannot wait to wear this dress. I tried it on over the weekend with the necklace and earrings I bought a while ago, and the shoes I found on Friday....they have a very retro/pin-up sort of feel, are black and white, with a heel (I tried them in my parent's backyard - there was a bit of sinking into the grass but I'll deal with it) and are absolutely PERFECT with this dress. And they were $60. Gotta love that. I may snap a photo of them soon.
really lovely!!
Gorgeous! I love it! And I love the fact that you didn't buy it in a "wedding store" too!
I love it! I linked to your post today loving the shorter dresses that brides like you are wearing,
Cheers!
Gina
