Just after breakfast
The toast has been scraped through the last of the runny eggs. The second cup of tea is finished. The washing up is done. Sunday morning is one of my favourite times of the week. Thought I'd show you my new painting in place in the kitchen. Loose Ends by Craig Amos. The daisies are blooming all over my garden and surprise surprise there are freesias popping up in the garden out front. Divine smell. Thought I'd show you a couple of things we've picked up lately. The biggest coolest tailor's scissors. So sharp and they make that wonderful heavy chirrup sound as you cut along the tabletop. I love all things "tape measure" so 2 old folding yard sticks and a wonderful old bakelite tape measure reel. The Midwinter Stonehenge Moon coffee pot was a $4 Vinnies find. I have the Sun dinner set already as you can see. Nothing much is happening today. I did have plans to work some more on the kitchen but my poor sore gammy leg put paid to that. Guess I'll just be drinking tea, reading the paper and taking nana naps before I head back to work tomorrow. Sigh.

Your bakelite tape measure is a thing of beauty.
Your KITCHEN is a thing of beauty. :-)
I agree with Kim. Everything in your kitchen looks so good. xx
Your language is wonderful . . . "chirrup" -- exactly!
Lin I'll keep an eye out for another one for you.
Kim :-) right back at you.
Anita it's almost time for another visit I think.
I love the sound of scissors on table tops as they cut don't you Jean?
Love your look, and am JEALOUS of your midwinter sun dishes. I found two casseroles, creamer (with lid) and sugar, and butter dish (with lid) at a junk shop last year for six bucks (!!!), and have been looking for more ever since, with no luck. Love them!
Great pics.
One day I just walked into a thrift store and there it was. $16 for a 20 piece set. Very jealous of your casserole dish et al Lisa.
How wonderful that you have freesias, they are my fav, and how exciting that your garden has hidden mysteries now blooming. Makes we wonder about the previous history and imagine what the garden must have once been like. Lovely also that no doubt the k man is enjoying bringing it back to it's past glory. Totally get those scissors! Xx Katherine
I grew up with midwinter sun!!! I love this pattern, reminds me of my childhood...and still the same plates my dad eats off of every day. About 15 years ago my mum found another set in a thrift shop, doubling my parents' collection! Your post left my jaw hanging today!!
There is a Korean dinner set from the 70s, cream with brown, orange and olive green flowers that my parents had when I was growing up that I see in all the thrift shops and it brings back so many memories. Can't bring myself to buy it though. Didn't like it then don't now :D But midwinter ... I also wished we had that one growing up!
