The living room ... before

Welcome to my living room. There isn't much that needs to be done here. Paint ... white I think. New light ... a Gino Sarfatti 2097-30 by Flos is high on my wish list. New curtains. A rug for the floor because the tiles will have to stay for a loooooooong time and move the furniture in and hang the artwork. Done. Any bets on if I'll still be unfinished by Christmas ... next year?

Hey Jo , Me again. You know I am seriously jealous of those cedar cupboards...shield doors always make me go weak at the knees. It's such a cosy sort of room. I can feel this being a favourite hangin out spot for mickey, I know the name of a painter who lives down your way if you are looking for quotes, he does most of his painting in this area but does your way too and has good name but not sure of dollars. This is all very exciting, can't wait to see boathouse bits in their new environ though I must admit. Speaking of which, I hope Gordon is enjoying his new home..he would look funny under the stairs.., cheers Katherine

Jo, such a fabulous idea to film your house tour. Your house is going to look amazing in no time. I laughed about the borders. Yeah, you'll get so much satisfaction peeling that stuff off! Good to hear you and Kelvin are settling in. And masterpieces were never created in a day, you know - so you're pushing the Christmas deadline! And I know a good builder too, if you want the details. xx

I'm REEEEEALLY glad you're able to do these videos so I (and our readers) can really see what you've gotten yourself into. :) (P.S. Your aussie accent still makes me giggle)

I'm so stoked for you because your new home has TONS of potential....and it's about time the other half of this blog gets her home in some mags. Although it's going to take you a while to deal with all those damn wallpaper borders...BLEH!

Look at all those Franco Albini ottomans. OMG!

I think it has tons of potential, I even kind of like the tile floors. Weird right?

Hey Jo, thanks for sharing this video. You have such a lovely voice! I love your living room. It feels so right to me - it feels like you. Love the artwork over the mantel. Did you do that? And those darling little stools. Can't wait to watch the process. Ah, don't you hate moving, so much work. But so worth it in the end. Hope you can have some fun with all the work. Are you playing music?

Can't wait to see all your art and your chairs. You have such interesting style.

Watch it Ipswich - Joe's in Town. How exciting, tiring, exhausting, wonderful. What an absolute find your new home is. All the best. First Christmas, it doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful. Love S.

Best of luck with the reno, another part of your life is about to start now!

What are your plans for the floor?

Thanks Katherine and Anita. I'll be sending out the invite to Rancho del Switch soon.

Kim start packing your bags :)

Morgan don't wet yourself. I have 4 Albini ottomans but only one is real. Those 3 are copies I had made in Bali.

Peggy I'm painting a lot of it white so I know you'll like it. The painting is not one of mine. I found it in a thrift store for $25.

Bev I haven't had time to breathe. Catch up soon I hope.

Thanks Suzanne. Maybe Christmas 2 years from now? :P

Paddy the floor stays for the time being. I have no idea what is under there and it will be a big job to jackhammer it up. I have a few large kilims that will hide most of it.
