House 'o concrete

This home, located in Tel Aviv, Israel and designed by Axelrod Architects is all about concrete. It's EVERYWHERE. A little too cold perhaps? I think so, but with some walls clad in wood and some wood flooring (I'd even welcome a bit of carpet) this is one sweet home. It may be cold and minimal but it's got ALOT of windows to keep things bright and warm. I love the long narrow window above the kitchen countertop, and the different levels of the home keep things interesting (love the floor #'s on the walls in case you weren't sure where you were).

Skin and bones

The lovely folks at Domus Nova sent along photos of a new property they added to their roster last week but despite it being basically unfurnished, it has such gorgeous architectural details that ideas keep popping into my head of how I could work with this absolutely incredible space.... Although for £7,500,000 you might be furnishing it with cardboard box tables and a pile of straw for a bed. :-)

Cactus in the kitchen

The perfect marriage

In a wood in Amagansett, Long Island there is a coming together of architect and client, of the rural building traditions of Long Island and Finnish Design. Three discreet buildings bound together by glass passages. Shingle and siding, rural and industrial, communal and private, view and personal space, polished concrete and painted wood. A marriage of man made and nature, of a building and a home. A perfect marriage. Amagansett House by Bagchee Architects.

Minimal and white

I often wish I had enough will power to live minimally. This location home in the UK is a dream. It's a bit sad to see what must have been alot of really gorgeous wood painted but WOW - all this white is spectacular. I wish I could live with all those white painted floors too but I've learned the hard way that they aren't practical in my home. I'd settle for just the kitchen - TO DIE FOR!!! Via 1st Option.
