Citizens of the World

Dominic Loneragan and Meghan McTavish are CITIZENS OF THE WORLD. People, places, product. They promote, collaborate and support creatives while producing the most drool worthy candles, COTW Artisan Fire, themselves. Kim recently featured a house they shot and since then I've been losing myself on their website, especially their COTW HOMES. Here's a little peak into the places and spaces you will find.

Multitasker

A reader of our wee blog, Florencia Torresani of Uruguay, wrote us about a project she started with her friend last August. When she is not being a lawyer she is photographing the art and workspaces of well-known Uruguayan artists - textile designers, visual artists, composers, photographers, ballerinas, cartoonists etc. This is how creative folks in Uruguay live and work. This is Multitasker. Bookmark it.

I love this house

This cold I have is knocking me on my ass, especially now that I am into the drippy nose/sinus ache stage so before I head back to bed I will simply leave you with this fantastic home I found on CITIZENS OF THE WORLD. It is that of Vicki Lee, artist and founder of a beautifully curated homewares shop TheTwentyTwo, and it reminds me how much I would love to live in a climate where one can easily enjoy the outdoors with lots of large windows and sliding doors. Inside Out

Ever since Inside Out magazine went monthly I've been in seventh heaven. After all you can never get too much of a good thing! Managing editor Lee Tran Lam has sent along a sneak peek into the new September issue.

The mag is out Thursday, and I've bundled up for you our cover story – it's about a couple who organised their Melbourne renovation from the Middle East (!), where they were based, via Skype and time-zone-coordinating correspondence with local architect Clare Cousins (pictured), who got the ball rolling and ensured the process was as hitch-free as possible by the time they landed back in Australia. You can see that all the organisation clearly paid off in these images, styled by Marsha Golemac and photographed by Brooke Holm.

Aussie readers can pick up their copy of the September Inside Out on Thursday. Don't fret if you aren't in Australia because you can read along on  ZinioGoogle Play,  the Apple Newsstand and Nook.

The fisherman's cottage

I couldn't help myself. I had to revisit the generalist one more time. A 1940s waterfront cottage, an architect and a desire to recycle, reuse and celebrate the found instead of a rip it down, slap up something mega and new. My type of home filled with memories and little treasures. A place for family and friends to live life, share love and renew spirits. To find out who and why and where and how head to the generalist here.

(Thanks to the generalist team for the images!)
