Thierry Boutemy is a burly man with full on beard/moustache who happens to be a florist (who worked on Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette!) and lives in a glorious house on an island in the city of Brussels. It has been a bit of a crap weekend so far - I am dealing with my second cold/throat infection in a month, and I spent 11 straight hours yesterday finishing up painting my living room (all I have left to do are the alcoves on either side of the back window once husband builds and installs shelves). It looks fantastic and I am really pleased. Photos to come once the room is complete and put back in order. And on a side note of happenings around here, I have a kitten rescue scheduled for Thursday (gawd help me) and a trip to Montreal Friday to pick up some vintage chairs for my dining room (!!!!). Anyway, it's 5 am and before I head back to bed with the cats I leave you with one of the most eclectic homes I have seen in a while. It is located in Barcelona in a building built in 1910, and was formerly a jewelry shop. Now it is home to the owners of an antique shop - which makes complete sense once you see the fabulous interior. It is furnished with such random pieces from different eras yet somehow it all works. Neither Kim nor I have kids. It goes a long way to explaining why we don't feature children's rooms on Desire to Inspire. (Besides which Kim's twin sister Julia has a great kid's design blog the boo and the boy so why compete :) The trouble is when I came across Petite Vintage Interiors by Belinda Kurtz I started oohing and aahing and gushing. I stopped short of wanting to have a child. I'll just have me some of the gelati spotted, vintage fun instead. I wish my room had looked like this when I was little.

I love all things vintage, and have wanted to get my hands on vintage lockers for ages. I either have not had the space for them, or have not found any I like. (My pals at Highjinx got some in a while back but they sold within minutes of them posting a photo on FB and IG). In the meantime I can love them from afar, and this round-up of all sorts of locker awesomeness will maybe be a sign that I will come across some soon! :)
