Happy in Happy Valley

A dark and dingy 3 bedroom apartment in Hong Kong's Happy Valley has been completely reworked and revived by architectural firm Lim + Lu. The idea was to explore the multi-use of spaces through a series and glass and black steel sliding doors. Rooms could expand and contract, be open or intimate all dependent on how the owners wished to use the space. Colour and pattern not only add a vibrancy and freshness to the apartment but also help delineate core living spaces from the extensions.

Once a garage, now a studio

In my backyard is a detached garage. It is tilting to one side and is a dumping ground for all sorts of crap. And we can't even fit our car in it. I would give ANYTHING to turn it into something this incredible. This backyard writer's studio was created from the conversion of a 100 sq ft garage. WHOA. Spaces of note by Luigi Rosselli

EPIC BATHROOM!!! I want to stare at this the rest of the day.

This marble is unbelievably beautiful. And with a thin profile it could not be more perfect in this kitchen.

There is nothing fancy about this dining room but the combo of the Thonet chairs, pale yellow walls, and light fixture are simply yummy, and then you look up and BAM!

These chunky stairs. That glass framed wall. The tumbling block tile. YES YES YES.

If I ever decide I want a graphic backsplash, THIS IS IT.

Soft loft by Lucyna Kołodziejska

I have featured MANY interior design projects by Polish designer Lucyna Kołodziejska over the years but this one is hands down my favourite. This "soft loft" is located in Gdynia on the Polish coast. Home to a couple and their toddler, they wanted the look of a New York loft so concrete and bricks were exposed, vintage radiators and new flooring with a rustic look helped with the loft vibe, along with some vintage furnishings to outfit the space. The homeowners even got creative and made the sink cabinet in one of the bathrooms. I adore the accents of green (yay plants!) throughout, and with black/white/grey the colour scheme is spot on. A++++
