Emma Hos update

Scandinavian spaces are perfect for a Friday. Super comfortable and casual and bright with the familiar touches like plants in every corner, white walls, wrinkled sheets, lots of side tables and black accents. The kind of spaces you want to crash in after a long work week. These spaces by interior designer/stylist Emma Hos are definitively worthy. (Find a previous feature of her work here).

When art makes all the difference

There is nothing overly exciting in the layout or architecture of this Swedish apartment for sale via Lagerlings, but throw in some large scale framed photography, gorgeous Thonet bentwood armchairs and an equally gorgeous dining table and classy herringbone hardwood floors and blah became BOOM!

Vintage love

Jo and I are still in long weekend mode trying to recuperate from all the chocolate and general bad-for-you food that was consumed so I leave you with this fabulous home I spotted on Elle Decoration Sweden's website. It is vintage Swedish with a twist. Instead of pale wood against a white backdrop this home is filled with teak/mahogany tones which really pop. With some classic mid-century chairs, funky lighting, industrial and rustic touches it's pretty spot-on in my books. (styling: Edin Memic Kjellvertz, photos: Andrea Papini)

A church conversion in Sweden

Thank you Thomas for sending us this link (via Fastighetsbryån) to this wonderful church conversion currently for sale in Sweden. On a frosty winter day it looks absolutely magical! Despite only having a couple of rooms, the ceiling height and lightness makes it appear so much larger. Yes, living in a converted church like this is still my dream. And this one may now have topped the list as my favourite.

Boho, rock chick, Scandi granny

It's a bit like Cochella meets William Morris or Swedish exposed brick meets Bob Dylan. I'm going to call it boho, rock chick, Scandi granny. Think David Hamilton photographs come to life with an iPhone and a flat screen TV. A warmer and, may I say, more welcoming progression from the washed out, monochrome, Scandi had a holiday in Bali look we've been seeing for a couple of years now. Hats off to the home owner and the stylist  of this real estate listing. Yes I have a new Swedish estate agent crush ... Entrance Fastighetsmäkleri. Unfortunately this townhouse has sold but there are plenty more lovelies on the website.
