The Little Glass House

How comfortable does the Santa Barbara home of interior stylist Elizabeth D Burns (edb designs) look? Stylish, welcoming, relaxed, you just want to settle in and make it your own. With white walls and pale wood floors, the beachy accent palette as well as treasured objects add interest and warmth. Large windows allow the sun to stream in and views of the lovely garden to be enjoyed. Definitely an "in and out" house with outdoor living areas increasing the house's entertaining footprint.

Emma Hos update

Scandinavian spaces are perfect for a Friday. Super comfortable and casual and bright with the familiar touches like plants in every corner, white walls, wrinkled sheets, lots of side tables and black accents. The kind of spaces you want to crash in after a long work week. These spaces by interior designer/stylist Emma Hos are definitively worthy. (Find a previous feature of her work here).

Living in the jungle

Over the years Kim and I have been fascinated by the homes of Sera Hersham-Loftus or should I say the reinvention of her homes. The queen of the boudoir look with its seductive, glamorous and over-the-top trappings is also the queen of the quick change, of reinvigorating her glorious spaces. Kim last featured her house a year ago but when I recently visited the Sera of London website, voila, her house had evolved into a glamazon jungle with the addition of even more houseplants than her usual parlour palms. It's spring, only it's inside. I love the look but can you imagine watering day?!

Simply lovely

The serenely beautiful, plant filled house shared by Kim on Sunday (here ... swoon) belongs to stylist and art director Liza Giles and her architect husband. It's easy to see that she worked for Designers Guild for many years. That lovely green, the freshness, the botanicals. I couldn't help myself. I had to share a little more of her work with Tricia Guild. Simply lovely.

Claire Brody

I was in need of a little pick me up today. It is chaos at my house while we are in the middle of getting the tile in our kitchen and foyer done - which means pulling up hardwood, old ceramic tile, asbestos vinyl tiles under first of 2 layers of subfloor etc. etc. We thought we lost a cat in the process (I found her this morning hiding in the basement rafters). Living through renovations is hell - add 8 cats means it's hellish beyond words. Anyhoo, I came across the portfolio of interior stylist Claire Brody and I thought this was just what I needed. A ray of sunshine while I'm holed up in my bedroom waiting for the dust and chaos to end. Happy Friday!
