Display tips

Not sure how to create the perfect art wall? Start with a row where the bottom of the frames line up, and then add art above each print in that row. Easy peasy! Via Domus Nova

Do you have a tall hallway and lots of books, or movies, or any other collection you aren't sure what to do with? Add shelving along the top (so no one bonks their head). Voilà!

Cave Interiors - items of note

There is nothing more quaint than a little built-in seating area in a kitchen. I have always wanted one. (I'll take that sign too)

Something else I have always wanted - a proper media room with loungey sofas for movie nights.

The dark painted cubes are a great way to break up the monotony of piles of books, and are perfect for showcasing little treasures, like penguins.

Some rearranging and a new rug

When I painted my living room last month I had decided to fill the shelves at the back of the room with plants. I quickly realized what a dumb idea that was given the lack of decent sunlight. So the other day I grabbed all of the knick-knacks (and some others) I had previously displayed on my mantel and swapped them with the plants. I then piled the plants on the bench I had in front of the window. I am much happier with this arrangement and so seem my plants (except one but I don't want to talk about it - it was my favourite).

Most of these items were picked up on antiquing travels. Air plant holder = na coille Studio. Phrenology bust = Urban Barn. Nun dolls & vintage camera = High Jinx. Ceramic bug = Wunderkammer

Book storage

This is a really creative solution for storing books. Open staircase, some steel rods with attaching shelves and you have yourself a really cool little library area. Via Elemental Architecture.
