Reader's home - Andrew's renovated minimalist flat in Madrid

In February a reader named Andrew sent over photos of his Devon Rex for Monday's Pets on Furniture, and the other day he send along some photos to his newly renovated flat in Madrid. A huge congrats to him as it is an incredibly drastic transformation that turned out beautifully, and was recently featured in AD Spain. I have to start with a few before photos. It turns out it had been home to squatters for 20 years before Andrew got his hands it. It had no working bathroom, lowered ceilings, ruined floor and walls....it was pretty hideous.

And look at it now!!!!! (Photos: Lupe Clement)

Reader's home: Jen's cozy remodel in Vermont (for sale!)

I have dreams of one day living on lots of land and having lots of animals and enjoying lots of space and sounds of nature. Maybe I should buy reader Jen's home now for sale in Vermont! You might remember me from this post? Anyways…We sold that house the day the sign went up in the yard. We left Texas and have spent the last 5 years in Vermont, transforming a 1978 gambrel into something I think is pretty cool (think blue shag carpeting, blue trim, dark wood). Every surface has been touched and redone. We converted the attached garage to a funky apt with a sleeping loft with pods and have been renting it out on airbnb the last 2 years. We also added the garage/barn and I went bold and painted it black! This is such an amazing place to live but packing our bags for PA. Stalking an old stone house that needs a complete rehab :) Read more about Jen's fabulous home (on over 10 acres!) via the listing here

Pati's no-longer-a-mud-patch backyard

Massively slanted mud patch??? Pati Robins has worked miracles on her backyard space and it has me so inspired to get my arse moving on my own outdoor spaces whenever our frigid winter decides to come to an end. And how incredible is that photo above?!

Pati's dark and maximalist mini home

I wanted to share another home with you today that I fell in love with on Instagram. A while back I met Pati Robins virtually through this awesome social media outlet and her and her home have become instant favourites. Let me tell you a bit about Pati before I take you further into her home, but as you can see from the photo above of her entryway, Pati's joie de vivre and bold style is immediately apparent. Pati is a Polish chick who moved to the U.K. in 2007. She rents a small 2 bedroom, disabled-adapted home that is 78 square meters and shares it with her disabled veteran husband, daughter Olivia and 2 dogs. When they moved in to this home it looked NOTHING like this. It was painted in magnolia with smelly smoke-stained walls and a sloping mud patch of a backyard...clearly she has free reign from her landlord when it comes to painting her home. WOHOO! Over the past 10 years Pati has slowly renovated and decorated her home herself on an almost non-existent budget (having only paid a plumber once to install a radiator). She's so damn crafty that she even dyed a leather chair black! (see 3rd photo below) Oh, and did I mention she's a fabulous photographer??? This girl is so freaking talented!! And sweet! I just love her to bits and am so stoked that she was eager and willing to let me share her home here on the blog, which she has been reading for years! Mutual love fest happening here folks. Anyway, may I introduce you to Pati's dark and maximalist mini-home! *insert black hearts here*

Maren's dark and dreamy Norwegian home - part 2

Yes I really suck at editing but OMG people, Maren's house is SOOOOO gorgeous! I am so sad she lives in Norway because I totally want to hang out at her place and listen to her make music and play with her cat and dog. Anyway, I will just have to make do with her Instagram feed. But at least I have a little (ok not that little) piece of her in my home. Check it out at the end of this post!
