Reader's home - Scott's pad in Tel Aviv

I've got a great reader's home for you all today. It belongs to interior designer Scott of Talmon Design, and here are some details:
The apartment is 135 square meters (1435 square feet, give or take). It is on the 9th floor of a building in Tel Aviv. The apartment is mine as is my design. The apartment underwent a renovation, knocking down walls, putting up walls and total reno of the bathroom pictured. The only room that was not renovated is the kitchen. The overall design is modern masculine (I'm partial to mid-century modern design) and layered with some antique pieces. The sofa, arm chair and white console table are my design. The sofa is of course inspired by the Florence Knoll sofa. The two light blue velvet armchairs are a vintage store find from Italy circa 1950. The coffee table is from Crate & Barrel and the white owl lamp is from West Elm. The side table is a Tulip. On the wall is black grass cloth wall paper. The wood and glass cabinet which houses the bar was found at a second hand shop and the lions head above it was a find in an antiques shop in Jerusalem. The room with the orange chair is my studio (I work from home). Master bedroom - the art work above the bed is mine. The bathroom is attached to the master bedroom. The original bathroom was completely torn out as I wanted something sleek and contemporary but still retaining a traditional feel, hence the subway tiles. (Photo credit: Shy Epstein). I love the sophisticated, masculine vibe of Scott's place - and his adorable Frenchie manages to blend with the rug!

Reader's home - Dan's apartment for sale

Dan emailed us with a link to his Stockholm apartment that is on the market (apparently right in the block where the Millenium movies were shot). It's very small but he's done such an awesome job giving it character and not overcrowding it with stuff (although perhaps removed for these listing photos, but I'm thinking we give him the benefit of the doubt). And of course, it's all white, as the best Scandi homes are.

Reader's home

Lilou and her husband have finished renovating their Swedish country house and it's gorgeous. So what do you do when you finish your house? Put it on the market and share it with Desire to Inspire. What? How could you sell such a lovely home Lilou?

I've been reading this blog for a very long time and now that I'm about to sell my house I thought I'd send you the link to the "for sale" site. My husband and I have been renovating the interior since the day we moved in. We found out during our house-owning-period that city life with its restaurants, cinemas, and cafés is much more to our tasting than country living. I also long to sink my teeth into our new apartment :-)

Now that I can understand. Just wish I was in the market for a lovely Swedish home in the country. I'd be moving right in. Good luck with it all Lilou!

Reader's home - Lucyna's home in Poland

I have a FABULOUS reader's home to share with you today. I adore this one. Dark and dramatic and edgy. And that concrete wall! YESSSSS!

My name is Lucyna Kolodziejska and i am an interior designer from Poland, Gdansk. My web site: www.fabrykawnetrz-fw.pl This is my flat, i live there with my husband Jarek, dog Pele and daughter Nathalie. It is 300 metres by the seaside. I design mostly apartments for private investors, I like to connect old things (etc. doors, old polish oak floor) with new design, also like to connecting very decorative elements with primitive concrete. As you see this in my apartment. (Photos: www.agencjanegatywna.com)

Itsy bitsy reader's home

Mel Munroe lives in Culver City, California. Mel lives in a 210 square foot apartment. (I had to convert it to square meters for it to sink in just how small that is. It's 19.5) Mel lives small. More importantly Mel lives large. She has put all her skills from her day job as a visual merchandiser and freelance product designer to work here in her little home. Could you do it? Could you live in under 20 square meters? More importantly could you live large in a small home just like Mel?

Thanks to Mel and Jermaine Saunders for the photos!
