Napa Vineyard

Known for her dramatic and experimental interiors Kara Mann has created what at first appears to be the counterbalance of her perceived "Goth" style for this Napa Valley home. Relaxed elegance, laid back flair with seamless interior/exterior living. Light and bright and liveable. You can almost feel the breezes fluttering the drapes and the sound of friends and family chilling by the pool.

Stalking Albert Einstein

Someone really, really, really likes Albert Einstein. What I really like are the stairs, that floor level window in the living room and the lap pool that stretches from the front yard to the back under the bridge-like entrance hall. I'm stalking in Brighton in Melbourne. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking a warehouse

I think it's the external space that I love the most in this Fitzroy North warehouse. Don't get me wrong. I love (most) of the inside as well but it's the walled garden effect, the exposed roof trusses, the creepers and pool that are tickling my fancy. I'd change one or two things inside this inner-city Melbourne home but that's only due to a difference in taste. I'm sitting here staring at the computer screen figuring how to arrange my furniture and art in a home I'm stalking and even going to purchase. Tragic am I not? Link here while it lasts.

Stalking over 5 or is that 6 levels

I'm in Paddington, Sydney and I'm stalking the conversion of an old warehouse. The home rises over 4 levels of living but maybe it's 5 if you include the roof terrace garden. Then again it could be 6 if you include the sandstone wine cellar. Whichever way there are a lot of stairs. Luckily there is also a lift. I cannot think of another thing they could cram into this space. 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, garaging for 4 cars, a butler's pantry off the kitchen, a gym, the aforementioned wine cellar, a separate teenager's retreat/rumpus, an atrium garden with retractable glass roof and an indoor glass-walled plunge pool. I'm exhausted just trying to decipher the floor plans. Link here while it lasts.

The cure for Mondayitis

Have you heard? Monday has been cancelled. No need for the weekend to end. No need to get the kids off to school or head in to work. Instead we can all spend the day by the water at this Palm Beach Pool House north of Sydney. Well maybe not all of us. It's the perfect get away for two. Where else would I find such a gem? At Contemporary Hotels of course.
