Kraków  Apartment

Industrial meets loft meets Scandinavian all tied together with a rough luxe, burnt out ruin twist. Like wearing an edgy outfit with the hems dragging in the dirt is how I would describe this 90 sqm apartment renovation in Kraków, Poland by design firm projekt i. Exposed brick, roughly painted white or almost smoke stained black, is juxtaposed with sleek white kitchen or softened with fabric swathes and knots. Custom soft furnishings and lighting by sister firm taftyli add an edge to the scheme.

A Polish apartment

I think what I love most about this 70 m2 apartment in Sopot, Poland is its freshness. The light, bright rooms, all the white and that standout shelving system/room divider with all its beautiful greenery. Such a clever way to divide the space. Let's start at the front door. Yes, yes, walk further in, turn and then you start to smile. Yes. See what I mean. Aquarius by LOFT, a designer workshop founded by Magdalena Adamus.

A simple beach house in Costa Rica

I have another project from a Polish interior designer to share with you. Magda of 2kul Interior Design sent photos of a beautiful beach house in Costa Rica. Is a simple project, but maybe, with everything that is happening last days simple is not a bad thing. Project is in the middle of nowhere ;), around Avellana beach in Costa Rica. Not a big budget, not much stores around and qualified workers. So we use anything that we found and nature gave us. Bark of a palm tree gives us material to make chandelier above the stairs, beach sticks and wood from the ocean - all the other decorations, lamps structures, handmade 'deer' on a wall. Palets that been left after construction become furnitures. Had my mother and her skills around so ask to make this huge hanging black and white lamp that you can see in the corner of a room. This goes to show with a bit of ingenuity and some found objects, you can create a wonderful space with next to no budget. For the record Magda, your mom has talent - I would buy that light fixture!

A flat in Wrocław Poland

A big thank you to Ilona Marus of Namaru design for sending these incredible photos of a flat she designed in Wrocław, Poland. This space has a casual ease about it, with warm woods and mostly white walls that keep it bright and natural. Beautifully styled by Hanna Bułacik and photographed by Nikola Baron. And to note: I am in love with the dining table. :)

A restaurant for the dogs

I LOVE this restaurant by Polish interior design firm 2kul! Restaurant is called Lord and idea of an Investor was to make English type pub in Poland. Name sound quite serious, but we do not want to scary people with too elegant, too luxury place so we invited our good friend artist Joanna Burda, who painted a whole family of aristocratic ... dogs - a little less serious :) Dark, dramatic dining rooms have always been a favourite of mine, so imagine some heavy velvet drapes, tufted leather chairs, a blingy chandelier and a huge dog portrait like these - I love that Weimeraner below.
