A totally overhauled flat in Madrid

Mike of Hr estudio de interiorismo & inmobiliaria emailed us about a 245 m2 flat he recently completed in the center of Madrid. It had been completely renovated and the transformation is so shocking I had to include a couple of before photos. It is hard to believe it is the same flat. The architectural details are stunning and I love the raised library space. Congrats on a beautiful project Mike!

Railway House

I love a well-executed conversion. This one is a former railway cottage situated between a railway line and a national park in Velsen, The Netherlands. It was designed by ZW6 Interiors and is such a beautiful marriage of old heritage and modern aesthetics. Steel, concrete & glass blend magically with greenery, crumbled brick and wooden beams. What a dream house.

Bluff house

Check out this quirky home build by Australian architects Auhaus. Quirky on the outside anyway, with its layout of pod-like structures. The interior on the other hand is SWEET! The kitchen and bathroom are gorgeous and that tile - WOW! Nothing like a little graphic pattern to keep things interesting. (Jo featured Auhaus before - here and here).

White on white

Clinton and Diana Grobler of Cape Town, South Africa architecture firm Grobler Architects did quite a number on the cottage. Unfortunately there are no before photos on their website but WOW after some renovating and additions this house is gorgeous! All of the white makes it so calm and fresh. And I really love the kitchen - very cool idea to make everything on the back wall black and the island all white.
