Only 4m wide and 17m deep this contemporary concrete and brick house rises above a busy street in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The minimalist, modern home references the traditional shop houses of the area with a blurring of private and public spaces at street level achieved by a folding shutter which also moderates shade and ventilation. A large central skylight allows light to penetrate to the inner rooms. By MM++ Architects.
If modern minimalism is something you're into, which I am because sometimes I just need something that is easy on the eye, then I think you'll dig this guest house in Chociwle, Poland designed by Loft Kolasiński. With a Scandinavian, mid-century feel this dwelling is a tad masculine, a touch funky and a smidge hip. What a cool collection of furnishings from the 30's, 50's, 60's and 70's from Italy, France, the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Poland - including a polish HI-Fi stereo from the 80's. The renovation and reconfiguration of this house in Mas Nou in Spain's Catalonian region by 05 AM arquitectura was all about opening up the warren of smaller rooms into open-plan living all with access to a stunning sea view through a wall of large windows. Light, bright and spacious with finishes that are perfect for relaxed family living. Seaside simplicity.
Livin' large and minimalist in London. This location home available via Shoot Factory is a total stunner and has so much potential to be absolutely fabulous (sorry homeowners but you missed the mark on some spaces, like the living room. Replace those awful sofas please!).
We've long been obsessed by Jason Maclean's work (here) but I must say that I'm elevating my obsession to superfan status after seeing this minimalist kitchen in his West London renovation. Yes the rest of the house is starkly chic but this kitchen is a standout. Form follows function with a simplicity that is strikingly beautiful. By Studio Maclean.
