Happy Friday!

I thought I would share a little bit of Femina eye candy before I head out for a day of errands since this is my day off from my government job. I hate that alot of my days off end up like this, with a to-do list a mile long so I could use a little pick-me-up with these photos below. I shouldn't complain too much - on my list are items like find some decorations for my new blue/black and white kitchen, and visit/feed my stray kittens - which is a daily event that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming (as of 2 days ago the littlest one has decided he likes me petting him!). Inside Out and colour, colour and more colour

Inside Out hits the newstands tomorrow and yes Managaing Editor Lee Tran Lam has sent us a sneak peek but what a house! Colour overload. Makes me want to do my happy dance. I'll let Lee Tran tell you a little more about this New Zealand gem.

"I've got some eye-catching pixels from the new issue of the magazine, out Thursday, and they're from a home that definitely hunts out your attention!he house belongs to designer Alex Fulton and was styled by LeeAnn Yare and photographed by Larnie Nicolson. I love how Alex's style is completely unbound and each room has a one-of-a-kind feel – such as the green wallpaper that flourishes all across the surface of her living room, and the sofa that matches its well-cultivated and growing patterns! There's also her daughter Isla's room, which Alex has given a confetti-like scatter of graphics, by applying stationery spots on the walls. And in the bathroom, she 'serves' a fruit salad above the sink and decorates a lamp with an upside-down pendant. This is a home that's shot through with original idea after original idea."

Inside Out

Is it that time of year already? Time for the January issue of your favourite magazine. When Inside Out's Managing Editor Lee Tran  Lam emailed with a sneak peek into the pages of the latest issue out Thursday I loved the house but couldn't believe my eyes. The January issue? Already?

"Hope the silly season is only the best kind of silly to you so far. If you need a little interiors relief, I've got a little hit of beachy prettiness for you. The project was overseen by interior designer Emily Buckley, of Baxter + Thrum, and it's a great example of getting along with your parents! She was asked by her mum and dad to revamp their Sydney home – they wanted a Scandi look combined with a "relaxed Northern Beaches vibe". Not only that, she had eight weeks (and roughly the length of one European family holiday) to complete the job! As her parents were away, they received the occasional photo of the demolished site, but they didn't get to view the the finished residence until they got home. Luckily, Emily had done an amazing job – so there were no awkward moments!"

Wow! Amazing is not the word. Love it! And the view! The styling on the story is by Phoebe McEvoy, the photography by Prue Ruscoe. Thanks Lee Tran. Inside Out and a dose of summer lovin'

Has a whole month passed by already since the last issue of my favourite magazine, Inside Out? Really? I would not have believed it until the email from Managing Editor Lee Tran Lam popped into my in box.

This is from the cover story of our December issue, which comes out on Thursday. It features the home of Debbie and Eugene Tan, the very sweet couple who operate the immensely popular Aquabumps blog. Given the surging waves and sundazed shots that feature on their site, it's no surprise that they live at Bondi Beach. The influence on the home, though, comes from Bali, where the pair got married. The interiors and outdoor areas cross over in seamless ways and, let's just say that there's no shortage of vitamin D flowing through their house! You may find yourself with a tan after looking at their residence. This light and bright home is definitely worth putting on your wish list! Styling by Jason Grant. Photography by Grace Cassio.
