Inside Out Christmas issue

Yes you read that title correctly. Christmas issue! Already? Eeeck! I must admit I haven't even thought about the holidays yet but perhaps these sneak peeks from the Christmas issue of Inside Out, out today, will give me the nudge I need. I'll let Matilda Duffercy, Senior and Social Editor of the magazine, explain what's between the pages.

As the year has galloped past, I'm emailing you to let you know about our November issue (hitting newsagents and digital outlets on Monday), which also happens to be our Christmas edition! There are lots of fantastic ideas for getting into the festive spirit in whatever degree you see fit. Even if you're more into the entertaining angle of this time of year, then you'll find what you're looking for.

Our cover home is really beautiful. The home manages to exist as a country-meets-coastal cottage, and the backdrop just perfect to showcase our take on a merry & bright Christmas. I've also included a pic of the dining room to showcase the owner, Lee's (of @mavendolls) fresh take on classic style. This feature also offers lots of easy craft projects for cheery touches during this season. Cover and dining room styling by Vanessa Colyer Tay. Photography by Maree Homer.

Our clever style editor Jessica Hanson has also pulled together her edit of the best decorative touches for a design-savvy Christmas, as well as all the best cards and wraps for rocking gifts! Christmas branch and cards styling by Jessica Hanson. Photography by Sam McAdam-Cooper. Paper branch made by Benja Harney.

We asked seven local design talents for their spin on a traditional Christmas wreath and the results are gorgeous! Here's ceramicist Ingrid Tuft's beautiful design. Wreath styling by Jessica Hanson. Photography by Sam McAdam-Cooper. Wreath made by ceramicist Ingrid Tufts.

Now, let's get to the food. V. important! We've pulled together ideas for the all-important ham (of course) but also the smaller bites that can work for all sorts of occasions before and after December 25th. The cheese, the nibbles, the anti-pasti that are perfect for guests dropping in and low-key get-togethers. There's lots of info on assembling the perfect cheese boards and the like so you'll pull off easy entertaining with flair. Entertaining Food styling by Kristen Wilson. Styling Jessica Hanson. Photography by Sam McAdam-Cooper.

I love this issue!

The November issue, out today, looks amazing but don't fret if you aren't in Australia. You can read along on ZinioGoogle Play, the Apple Newsstand and Nook.

Inside Out is out

I always look forward to my monthly email from Matilda Duffercy, Senior and Social Editor of Inside Out magazine. It means that another issue of my favourite magazine has hit the news stands. After seeing the sneak peeks she sent over I can't wait to devour the October issue.

This month, the home on the cover is a little special more so than usual; as it also features as the Open For Inspection house. It really is the perfect family home. From the clever storage to the neutral palette, the semi has been totally reinvigorated thanks to a clever renovation by the team at Alexander & Co. It was built by Scott Fairweather of Fairweather Constructions. And the family who live here are lovely and so happy with the finished product. The home was styled by Vanessa Colyer Tay and photographed by Maree Homer. Thanks to West Elm, you can take a video tour of the house.

More info about the project and heaps of pics here.

I've also included a pic from the fantastic kids' party feature. That cake is beyond amazing, and delish, too! It was styled by Jessica Hanson, with food styling by Kristen Wilson and photographed by Sam McAdam-Cooper.

Speaking of kids, how about this awesome wrap-up of the coolest highchairs in town? I visited the set the day of the shoot and it was truly pastel perfection. Our style editor Jessica Hanson has excelled again – she has such a fantastic eye. Photographer Guy Bailey did a great job of capturing the ideal snap. Jessica also styled the beautiful bedroom for a dancer that features.  Sam McAdam-Cooper photographed it.

The October issue sees star stylist Megan Morton offer up loads of her hard-won wisdom on styling a bedroom to fit your needs. All the styling assistance came from a styling workshop she taught, so they could really get a feel for a day on set. Love that pooch on the bed, too. Styling by Megan Morton, production by Katie Randell and photography by Jason Busch.

The issue is a kitchen & bathrooms special, so it's packed with heaps of advice for renovators (and so much visual inspiration, of course). And as it's starting to feel warmer here, we're just so excited for summer. I hope you enjoy the new issue.

Stalking a magazine editor's house

Oooh now it feels creepy. My real estate stalking takes me, in most part, to strangers' homes and, yes, in this case the owner is still a stranger but it feels like I know him. I'm stalking the Surry Hills house of Vogue Living's (and late of Belle magazine) editor-in-chief Neale Whitaker. At first I didn't realise but the two weimaraners were a give away as was the Gillie and Marc portrait. It's a stylish, light-filled two bedroom terrace house full of books and wonderful artwork. Almost worth a trip to Sydney to attend an open house. No I couldn't be that creepy. For auction here through BresicWhitney.

Inside the latest Inside Out

I always love the little sneak peeks inside my favourite magazine that Matilda Duffercy, Senior and Social Editor of Inside Out magazine, sends our way each month. September's Issue, out tomorrow, looks amazing! I'll let Matilda take it from here.

Spring has almost sprung here and the issue is all about fresh ideas for your renovation, with a 17-page outdoor special to boot. The cover alone brings a little of the outdoors inside, with soft tones and textures making this living zone instantly inviting. The whole home is really special – from the design-savvy kitchen to the considered palette enlivened by the homeowner's favourite tone – emerald green. Cover styling by Heather Nette King. Cover photography by Derek Swalwell.

I have included a shot of another brilliant home from the issue. The Sydney terrace was renovated in keeping with its heritage, but in a style that speaks to contemporary design. All in all, the home is totally wishlist. Styling by Claire Delmar. Photography by Felix Forest. (It's actually one of Inside Out's Open For Inspection homes and here's the video tour - Jo.)

It wouldn't be spring without a bit of bloom adoration! A beautiful feature styled by Matt Page, with floral styling by Caitlin Melling highlights lots of ways to display the season's best as well as a few tips for success. Photography by Sam McAdam-Cooper.

This month, our style editor Jessica Hanson gathered gorgeous jewellery holders and mobiles in her best buys pages. Both were photographed with Sam McAdam-Cooper.

We're about to celebrate Father's Day, and we've whipped up a feast fit for a king! Here are some banoffee pavlovas, that are sure to pull a crowd long after Father's Day ends. Styling by Alicia Sciberras . Food styling by Kristen Wilson. Photography by Sam McAdam-Cooper. Production by Mia Daminato.

I hope you enjoy the new issue – Ii really love this one.

And I think I will too! Can't wait to get my hands on my copy of the September issue but don't fret if you aren't in Australia. You can read along on  ZinioGoogle Play, the Apple Newsstand and Nook.

Inside the pages of Inside Out

It's that time again. Time for a sneak peek into the pages of the latest issue of Inside Out magazine out tomorrow. Social and Senior Editor Matilda Duffecy has again generously sent along some pictures to whet our appetite.

Our new August issue hits newsagents and digital outlets on Thursday! This issue explores, among lots of other things, practical ways to live with white. We're featuring homes that showcase "white with texture", "white with timber", "white with vintage charm" and "white with bright".  Our cover home represents a huge renovation in Sydney's Bondi Beach. Here is a detail of the dining area. As you can see it's a beautiful ode to pared-back style. Styling by Claire Delmar. Photography by Prue Ruscoe.

Our best buys features this month pull together seriously stylish teacups and pendant lights. Small details to bigger finishing touches. Styling by Alicia Sciberras. Photography by Sam McAdam-Cooper.
