From Croatia

A reader named Sanja from Croatia emailed the other day with a link to her blog where she frequently features Croatian interiors. I love to see decor from different countries around the world and thought I'd share some spaces from Croatian magazine moja 4 zida that she has featured homes from on her blog. This first loft is located in Zagreb and is the home of interior designer Mirena Skoric. Love the bold turquoise sofa! (Photos: Frane Fabris)

I'm not sure where this next home is located but I LOVE the raw, warehouse-like shell and white painted brick/cement walls. And I must mention the inset patch of hardwood in the cement floor. Gorgeous!! (Photos: Guliver/Inside Photo)

Stalking warehouses with cute little courtyards

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE a warehouse conversion. I love the space and the industrial remnants, the soaring ceilings and the often inner city location. It's gritty luxury and oh so hip but ... sometimes, just sometimes you need a little green space, an outdoor area to sit and see the sky and smell the smog fresh air. Now this warehouse has the perfect courtyard. I'd like to see this one in person. I have a feeling that its limited colour palette is a lot more serene and elegant than the photos suggest. But maybe, just maybe I'd throw a little dash of colour here or there. Link here while it lasts.

Spoilt for choice

I'm real estate stalking in Surry Hills in Sydney ... again. Honestly I think I should just move into this suburb! Choice of two apartments today, both in the same recently refurbished warehouse. Now which one should I buy. Number 1, a two storey two bed or number 2, another two bed but on one floor? Decisions decisions. Links here and here while they last.

Tribeca loft

Soaring ceilings and seemingly endless space. A dream loft space in Manhattan. But how to make it work as a living space without losing the beauty of all that openness? Sliding partitions and walls of fabric dissect the loft creating intimate areas. Pavilions encased in cloth and zones defined by glass placed within the void of the loft itself. Open and warehouse like. Enclosed and private. Raw and beautiful, luxurious in its space. An amazing loft home designed by New Zealand firm Fearon Hay.

Warehouse stalking

Yes please! Real estate stalking again. Look at the space, look at the windows, look at the wire railings, the plunge pool, the Japanese style dining (love a pit to sit in ... just can't handle sitting cross legged at my age), the stairs. OK I'm not quite enamoured with the decor. A little too "boy brown" ;)  I'm sitting here daydreaming of how I'd furnish it and as I have lots of "virtual" money to buy it I can, of course, afford stellar art to fill it. You see I wouldn't have wasted my money on the cars. Art. Furniture. Sculpture. They're my vices. Still the warehouse is pretty damn cool. Just needs a few tweaks to fit me fine. Are you a home cinema type? Not sure if I am. All this space in Surry Hills, Sydney! Link here while it lasts.
