Far pavilion

A dreamy afternoon lazing in your private pavilion in a faraway land. The warm breeze stirs the leaves as you flick through the pages of a steamy novel, refreshed by pungent mint tea. It's getting just a little chilly though as the sun moves across the sky. What to do? Why if this was your far pavilion it's just a quick dash across the patio and into your own back door. A little touch of the exotic in an urban back yard. Paradise so close to home!

An ode to the anti-spring

I read a very interesting post today by lobstermobster on Reclaiming Miss Havisham: The Aesthetic of Satis House in Modern San Francisco (known from now on as Reclaiming Miss Havisham). It was all about the anti-spring. Are you one of those readers who hates spring and its pastels, Easter and its sickeningly sweet bunny icons and the whole sneeze inducing ode to nature? Join lobstermonster as she develops a visual ode to the decayed, the surreal and the slightly insane in interior design. Here is my contribution to the anti-spring movement, 2 moody "burnt out" rooms in large Victorian house in London. There is something lovely in the decay and destruction. Sometimes the ugly is truly beautiful.

White delight

More beauty in white. There is just something about all white spaces that are just so peaceful, fresh, homey and gorgeous in photos. This Victorian home in London is no exception.

A home to die for

Living Etc. recently included in their magazine a spread of the incredible eclectic Victorian terrace of Mark Homewood, a buyer for interiors and textile company Designers Guild. I adore all the bold colours against the white backdrop. The painted white floorboards everywhere had me gasping in delight. This home is such an inspiration. (So inspiring in fact that thanks to the staircase photos I've decided to try and fix my stairs using wood so I can then paint them white with a runner).

Cool and white

I can't get enough of white interiors at the moment. White and full of vintage finds and fabrics. Loving this house in London with it's great boho vibe. Another great location house from Shootspaces.
