Stalking Ilse Crawford

Last year Ilse Crawford sold her London apartment and we all remembered how much we loved it. (You can still see the listing here.) Now Dinder House, another creation that had us swooning, is for sale through Knight Frank. Nine bedrooms, 7 reception rooms, 5 bathrooms and THAT kitchen diner in a Regency-era property set in over 21 acres in Wells, Somerset, England. Oh my I have loved this house so hard for so long. The real estate listing photographs, below, don't do the interiors justice but they do give us a stalker's peek into other areas of the house and the amazing grounds. This is also the perfect time to share my favourite part of the kitchen. Not the marble and lacquer main kitchen but the scullery next door. Both by Artichoke it's the behind the scenes pantry that I've had in my kitchen inspiration files for many a year. The link to the house listing is here. Price is on application but it does not take a stretch of the imagination to realise almost all of us can't afford it but if you can, and you buy it, can we all come round to visit?

Ali Budd Interiors

Toronto interior designer Ali Budd is cranking out sassy and classy spaces that must completely win over the homeowners, because I sure am smitten! Soft, neutral colour palettes, timeless furnishings and some bold wallpaper and art to add some spice. Side note: I am dying over the chandelier in the first two photos.

Family townhouse redo

"The Lorimer Street Townhouse is a three-story, twenty-five foot wide, two-family house located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Every wall, ceiling, stair, floor and window of the house was replaced in the extensive renovation. The result is an open, loft-like home for a family of four. A custom, steel and solid wood tread stair divides the Parlor Level into a Living Room side at the street front and a Dining and Kitchen side at the rear of the building with garden access through 3 new, patio doors. Existing wood joists were exposed on the Parlor Level with insulation added to the underside of the floors above. Reclaimed floors compliment the existing joists and add to the rustic feel of this urban home."

A massive redo but the results are outstanding. Love the bathroom. Love the industrial vibe of the exposed ceilings, those floors and the central steel staircase. By Elizabeth Roberts and Ensemble Architecture.

Cuisines Steam

I have been having heart palpitations since coming across the website of kitchen company Cuisines Steam from nearby Montréal. Foodies and design enthusiasts Brigitte Boulanger and Jean Côté joined forces and passions to create these absolutely stunning modern kitchens with streamlined cabinetry in black, white and wood. Epically staged and photographed to boot! Their site is one I am bookmarking and hopefully one day can call them up when I tire of my current kitchen (and can hopefully make it larger).

Black and white

Crisp, contemporary lines in classic black and white. A modern kitchen in classic black and white with a hint of the tradition in the bay window and shutters. I often overlook those little socks on bentwood chairs and stools but don't they pop in this space. PRK Residence in Melbourne by Biasol: Design Studio.
