Giorgio Possenti

I am often asked whether I get bored with the images and spaces that cross my path everyday. The answer is no. There is always something, someone that makes me stop, take measure and smile. Yes. That is beautiful. Like the soft, silvery light that plays across the portfolio of Italian photographer Giorgio Possenti, the geometry of the modern and minimalist spaces he photographs repeated in his images or the way he uses focus to heighten the audience's anticipation.

Surprise!

Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli are architects from Italy whose work cannot be taken too seriously. They obviously have a thing for spaces that adapt to the owners needs and moods. One minute - a white box, the next - floral artwork. White kitchen cabinets are WAY FUNNER on the inside. And I love the map of Italy divided into multiple frames.

Tiles are your friend

I fell in love with this adorable apartment when I stumbled across it while doing some creative googling. It is located on one floor of a renovated home built in 1870 in Savona, Italy. It was designed by architecture firm Grooppo and while there is not much to it, they were geniuses to add some interest (whilst it seems to be lacking elsewhere) via a different tile floor in every room. How fun!!!

Villa San Lorenzo

Debora from Italy sent us some photos and info of a restored farm located in the heart of Tuscany. It's the charming house and the evocative artistic world of Mrs. Paola Vallini, also known as Nerina P., painter. Best thing of the house is the big fireplace in the hall with archway made of red brick. In front of it there is a big and antique oriental rug. The kitchen is furnished with antique Italian pieces made of fine solid wood, and decorated with the family collection of pottery from florentine area. In the garden there's an old-fashioned oven to make tasty pizzas and fragrant bread. Artworks on walls are all made by Nerina P. This classic Tuscan style home is absolutely beautiful, and would be a dream to visit, with a glass of wine in hand.

Flooring love

I adore wide plank hardwood so much....but then herringbone has always captivated me (seems so Parisian-apartment-like). This apartment is pretty sweet, and I love the long hallway-type layout, but OMG the hardwood floor just blows me away. And I need some antique chairs that are stripped/falling apart/left raw. Lovely! (Via Le case di Elixìr)
