A desperately needed vacation

Unfortunately today there will be no Flickr finds post. My husband and I are on a sort of mini-honeymoon in Prince Edward Island, visiting his family and friends (Jeff grew up there). I didn't have time to get a post ready before we left so I thought I'd just slap up a couple photos from our trip so far (I'm hoping to get my regular posts up throughout the week so you folks won't even miss me.) We arrived late Friday night after a 14 hour drive, and will be heading home next Saturday. We love it here - it is SO peaceful and relaxing. We're staying at my inlaws' cottage on Covehead Bay and it really is a little slice of heaven. We are hoping to make this trip a yearly summer ritual. Below will show you a glimpse of why we love P.E.I. - the first is the cottage, the second is the view from the window of the bedroom, the third was taken at our trip to a beach (Blooming Point) yesterday and the last 2 of bald eagles were taken by Jeff and his mother using his father's INSANE 600mm lens. They land daily on the top of the trees along the water line. (I have this set on Flickr for photos of this trip which I'm be uploading to as often as I can).

La petite Bastide

My head is racing with too many things. Work, the blog, home (maybe even a new house ... there you go I've jinxed it ... need to touch wood). Holidays in far off places with sunny climes and pure peace and simplicity keep popping into my mind. If only. La petite Bastide near the the village of Lourmarin in Provence. My sigh is almost as strong as the mistral. Don't miss the dreamiest of bedrooms after the jump.

Happy holidays!

Jo and I (and our furry children, including Felix below) would like to wish you all a very happy holidays and hope you all get at least a bit of a vacation and have a great time with family and friends. Jo is off to her sister's home on the beach for a couple days (and off work until the new year) and I am having a relaxing time with family nearby (and I am back to work unfortunately on Tuesday). Since we are blogging fiends, we are not really taking a break from the blog over the holidays. Instead we'll be featuring some reading lists of new blogs that we've come across as well as some of our favourite photos we've posted over the past year. So if you get a little break from the chaos of the holidays, stop on by here as we'll be blogging daily. We very much appreciate everyone's support over the past year and thank you all for visiting DTI. Be safe and we'll see ya soon!
