Grey days
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow! .....
Oops sorry got carried away there. Real estate stalking on a rainy weekend found this Malvern, Melbourne home. Cute as a button on the outside. Sophisticated on the inside. I'd ramp up the bedroom a little more but the bones are good. The mirror over the mantle is a modern take on a traditional piece. Can you spot the 2 TVs in the living areas. Summer and winter viewing? I hope not both at the same time. I'm also wondering if they ran out of money for window treatments. Perhaps they like a a simple finish.I'd love to see this house shot sympathetically. A good stylist, a good photographer, a magazine spread? Link here while it lasts.
Straight to the top of the class
Inspired by the beautiful spaces they encountered in their day jobs, architectural photographers Anne and Jean-Luc Laloux converted this Belgian school house into fun, quirky and fab accommodation for up to 21 people. This isn't your rustic group holiday share. It's an exercise in great design and a great time with friends. Too cool for school? I don't think so. Straight to the top of the class. La Classe that is. Quickie 2
I warned you! More from the dark side. The Milan loft of furniture designer Rodolfo Dordoni via AT Casa. This is more me. Still undecided on the oversized humanoid sculpture (this coming from a woman with a life size Mary and Jesus statue, a 3m Papua New Guinea spirit post and a Tiwi burial pole) but the rest is perfect. Soon I too shall be welcomed home each day by a darkling den.
A Milanese palazzo
I saw this home on Yatzer about a week ago and nearly peed my pants. I think I've seen it on a couple of blogs already but I had to include it here because I freaking love it. Built in the 18th century, it's now owned by designers Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci of Dimore Studio, who set up their studio on the ground floor and their residence above. If that was mine I wouldn't want to ever leave it either. It's understated level of coolness is mesmerizing. Totally unique and edgy but timeless at the same time. (Photos by Emanuele Zamponi)
