In keeping with the theme of gothic industrial from my earlier post, I have had this photo stashed away for a while now and thought this was the perfect time to share it. This is a simple entrance to a home but I love the vibe here. Via Inside Out, photo by Chris Warnes.
Blending new with old is what went down in the renovation of this classic apartment in Vienna. Original tiles, doors, windows and wood floors were restored, making a perfect backdrop for a modern partially free-standing kitchen and furnishings. A subtle grey and white colour scheme makes this home serene and keep the attention on the details. By architecture and design firm destilat.
I have a thing for grey, and so I fell in love with this 119 m² loft apartment in Östermalm, Stockholm as soon as I spotted it. White walls make a beautiful backdrop for grey here with subtle accents in colours via plants, the beautiful rattan pendant and the dining chairs. Lovely! For sale via Lagerlings.
It's a dream I've always harboured. An unpretentious beachside house, comfortable with an almost spartan beauty ... almost. I would always have room for a found object or a time worn piece. A short walk to a wind swept beach. The sound of waves ever present like a heartbeat of a simple life. A home to be alone and a home to share with family and friends. I'm stalking in the oh so exclusive Sydney suburb of Woollahra, the "consular precinct" no less. The elaborate facade of this 1880 Italianate building is matched by the elegant interiors by Thomas Hamel & Associates and it's no surprise that it has graced the pages of Vogue Living.
