Modern minimalism in Berlin

Whenever I see a home as minimalist as this I wonder how long the sparseness would last if I moved in. Like, A DAY. MAYBE TWO. This 155 sq m home is gorgeous though as-is. So much open space. As much as I love ornate moldings found in old heritage homes, the lack of it here really appeals to me. Who needs baseboards anyway?!

The Bunker

If a concrete home leaves us cold we'll often describe it disparagingly as a bunker. So what happens when that concrete home is actually a bunker? If it's this penthouse apartment atop a WWII above ground bunker in Hamburg, Germany what could have been sterile and oppressive is instead raw, warm and sophisticated. The loft-style space has four metre floor-to-ceiling windows, is filled with contemporary designer pieces and has two big balconies offering amazing views over the city. What makes this beautiful apartment even more exciting is that it is part of the luxury vacation accommodation offered through Welcome Beyond. It's available from March 2017. In the meantime we can daydream of a getaway to help us through the Friday grind.

A masculine apartment in Berlin

I mentioned in this post last week that I am pretty much head over heals for interior designer Hubert Zandberg. There is no stopping his incredible talent, so here is another one of his latest projects. It is a masculine, earth-toned apartment in Mitte, Berlin and everything is so sooooooooooo good.

Working on a Saturday

It's like I say week after week. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it better be somewhere stylish. Oh my! I'd love to work here. A former chocolate factory in Berlin now home to an online card game company by Munich-based architectural firm IFUB*.

Minimalism by Studio Oink

I thought I would share some modern minimalism to ease you into the work week (for those who aren't on summer vacation - those are the people I am hating right now). Leipzig, Germany based creatives Studio Oink is a favourite of mine for calm, beautifully styled spaces with just about the bare minimum. So peaceful. (Previous feature here)
