This contemporary is a classic

Another look at a stunning house for sale in my home town of Brisbane. In our subtropical climate living outside is common almost all year round. A flow between the interior and the exterior is important. This is a stylish contemporary with one thing much prised by the inhabitants of Bris Vegas. No not the pool, the beautiful mature jacaranda tree out front. I'd kill for a tree like that.

Old houses modern living

I thought I'd share more amazing Brisbane homes currently on the market. The first is a late 19th century workers cottage in an inner city suburb. A lovingly restored old house with a fabulous 21st century addition. Old houses like this are in conservation areas and maintaining an authentic street presence is paramount. What a funky way to increase space while leaving the heritage house intact.

The second house is an a much sort after well heeled suburb. It's a federation style house probably from the first couple of decades of the 20th century. Here the extensions pay homage to the original building while providing the much coveted outdoor space that Queenslanders must have. We live outdoors almost year round!

If I was a retro room

I so want to be this wonderful retro room from the 60s. Sophisticated, silver and sleek with a chinoiserie twist and a Platner side table. But after a few too many white wines at lunch I think I need to be this dark soothing retro room from the 60s. Love them both by the way! OMG if I was a room!!

Just saw this amazing room featured on Elle Decor Spain's website. The combination of Herman Miller's 1955 classic Coconut Chair, chrome arc lamp, chinoiserie hand painted wallpaper screen, mirrored coffee table, outrageously large floral arrangement and my new colour obsession .... green. Love it all! Maybe not practical but I'm not always practical myself. Thanks to Kim's twin sister for showing me the way to this fabulous room!

Private oasis

Another beauty for sale in my home town. Unimposing from the street it has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, pool, spa and water features galore. There is a snag. It's for sale by negotiation. Sure sign that it's way out of my league.
