Bedroom progress report
I had visitors coming. I had a bedroom in disarray. I freaked out. I cursed, snapped at my husband, almost tripped over the dog and set to work. See more on my page.

If you'd like to send us photos to include in next week's "pets on furniture" post, please ensure your photos follow our basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off...and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it's dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.com and PLEASE don't send closeups of your pet!)
This is my little angel Maggot, (goes by "Maggie" for short), she is a two year old Maltese Poodle X. Here she is having an (interrupted) nap in the afternoon light of the master bedroom.
- Tiffany
This is Lucy. She's the newest addition to our family, but as you can see she's quickly made herself at home. Here she's sprawled our on our sectional in the den, flat on her back & snoozing the day away.
- Lara
Eddie, my 2.5 month old basset hound
- Maxwell
I came downstairs to find my two year old boxer, Vash, sunbathing on this chair.
- Arianne (Utah)
There's Ginger, my fifteen year old kitty, nesting in an afghan knitted by my late grandmother on my sleek and incredibly comfortable white leather sofa. Ginger joined Me'me' (french for grandma) in the great beyond on wednesday. She always was a very stylish girl.

I would like to introduce Jennifer Squires as the latest addition to our sidebar. Jennifer is from London Ontario and is a fantastic landscape photographer. Her Etsy shop (a joint effort with her hubby) is a space for modern and minimalist images of peace, reflection, and for all things that can help induce a bit of meditation in our days. They offer photographs of seascapes, landscapes, and winter trees in all sorts of sizes. (After studying French for 2 solid weeks, I could use a little bit of inner peace right about now, and the following photos sure do help...)
We've had a couple new advertisers join desire to inspire so I thought I'd do a quick post to plug their Etsy shops because they sell awesome products and I wanted to make sure you all went over and had a looksie.
First up is Michael McDowell's shop mudpuppy. I've been a long time fan of this shop and have had it marked as a favourite. Michael sells hand-crafted modern ceramic - mostly airplant hanging pods, baby head planters and chimes. I'll take one of each!
The next shop is Samantha's called Royal Countess where she sells modern, timeless jewelry. Lots of goodies here including earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings. I picked out a few favourites, below.
This is a quick post to introduce a new advertiser to DTI that I'm really excited about because it's a Etsy shop and I am completely obsessed with Etsy. The shop, bestillshop.etsy.com, was created by Sarah Robinson and here's a bit from her profile: "be still homewares was founded in January 2009. My name is Sarah Robinson and I'm an Australian Industrial and Graphic Designer with a love of fabric and pattern. On moving to Bangkok in 2008 I was amazed and excited by the fantastic fabrics available here. I've decided to do something with all of this fabric. I currently live between Australia and Thailand." These said fabrics are gorgeous and she has several pages full of cushion covers and napkins that I'd love to get my hands on. My favourites are below. (Welcome Sarah!)
