More doggie Monday

I just got this email that I had to share ASAP because the photos that accompany it are so cute I can't stand it.

"My name is Meredith and I love the Desire to Inspire blog, which I check for design ideas frequently. I especially love the posts with the pets and wanted to share one of my sister's pup Dixie. She is a real sweetie and a ham who loves to lounge on the couch. Anyway, my sister is named Cyndi and they live in Atlanta. Just thought you and Jo would like a chuckle at these photos." Thanks Meredith! (Photos posted here)

Monday dose of doggie

Aaaawwww so sweet! Let's start the week with more readers' pets taking over the furniture. Seems it's a dog's life after all. This little cutie is Buzz, a Jackchi from Dublin. His mum Hilary from Blacklashes left a comment on the last doggie post. "No chance of keeping Buzz our off the couch...thankfully its black leather so not much of a problem...I am thankful that I never got the cream fabric one I longed for a while ago!"

Ian just had to share this cute pic."2 out of 2 of our bull terriers prefer sofa's to their own beds! :) This is Basil on the sofa!" (And Ian I hope this new blog runs longer than one post ... come on I know you can do it!)

Here is the very blissful Coco. Maybe I should say cool as a cucumber Coco. Her owner Nathalie from Apartment20 fills us in on Coco's look of contentment. "Coco is a Rottweiler and this is her reaction when we turned on the air the first time this summer. Awww Lucky Coco enjoying the cool air!"

Shelly emailed this adorable shot of Lulu with her favourite chew perched jauntily between the bed pillows. What a cute throw pillow she makes herself but Shelly food and on the bed?! You big softy!

Diane's solution to a dog invasion of the couch was blankets. "This is Murphy and this was taken not too long before he went to doggie heaven." With a boy that big no wonder he got the couch Diane.

And finally from Melanie (Carolina Cottage), "Two beautiful dogs on one ugly couch .... Meet my 2 American Eskimo dogs - Shiya and Denver. Denver (on the right) rarely hops up on the couch, so this is a rare shot. The room is a work in progress... aren't they all?" Let's hear it for the room in progress. I think we all have one of those. Cute dogs are a good starting point for a design scheme.

OK regular programming will resume soon with a great photographer and an amazing portfolio. I might even have a new (or yet another) photographer crush!

Does anyone keep their dogs off the furniture?

Dogs are popping up everywhere including on the furniture. I forgot how much I loved doing these last year. First up we have this photo from Natalie. "I recently did a photo shoot which included some very cute and naughty dogs on and around the furniture." I see you have the obligatory handbag in shot too Natalie. Great photo and the dog is super cute!

Lindsay left this pensive beauty in my inbox and my heart melted .... awwwwwhh! Meet Meathead.

Petra from Designfragment sent is this sweetie. "His name is Rocco, he's a staffordshire bullterrier and only about seven months. (+he's all mine)"

And to "end" it all this rear view sent in by Meredeth. "This is Lola our 6 yr old American Pit Bull Terrier. She's waiting for her favorite person in the world to come for a visit - my sister - "Aunt" Denise." Maybe I should rename the post well rounded rump on a chair!

Who let the dogs out?

It only takes one dog on a chair photo to unleash more beasts. Yes we have a dog on a bed, a dog who is almost on the bed and on a chair and a dog doing its best to absorb a chair.

Kelly Planer sent in this gorgeous photo of a dog on a bed (she swears a bed is as legitimate as a chair for the sake of these posts). Is it yours Kelly? You never said. I hope he/she is because that is one sweet puppy!

Linda from Lime in the Coconut was inspired enough to send in this quaint portrait of Bo the great Dane trying out her newly revamped garage sale find. A perfectly big chair suddenly disappears! See more here.

And in the original post Jeannine from Small and chic in Cville left a comment linking to her flickr photos of Baxter at work and at play (that's his hotel room!). Such sweet dogs and complete hams!

Dog on a chair!

Where oh where are the dogs on the chairs? Remember when Kim and I were obsessed with dogs (and cats) on chairs and sofas, beds and just about any type of furniture? Marissa in Chicago remembered and sent us this fab photo of Jack, the dog, on a yellow Knoll that neighbors were throwing away. Hello Jack you gorgeous thing and hellooooo yellow chair! Throwing away?!! Thanks Marissa these photos are so cute!
