Does anyone keep their dogs off the furniture?

Dogs are popping up everywhere including on the furniture. I forgot how much I loved doing these last year. First up we have this photo from Natalie. "I recently did a photo shoot which included some very cute and naughty dogs on and around the furniture." I see you have the obligatory handbag in shot too Natalie. Great photo and the dog is super cute!

Lindsay left this pensive beauty in my inbox and my heart melted .... awwwwwhh! Meet Meathead.

Petra from Designfragment sent is this sweetie. "His name is Rocco, he's a staffordshire bullterrier and only about seven months. (+he's all mine)"

And to "end" it all this rear view sent in by Meredeth. "This is Lola our 6 yr old American Pit Bull Terrier. She's waiting for her favorite person in the world to come for a visit - my sister - "Aunt" Denise." Maybe I should rename the post well rounded rump on a chair!

I've tried to keep mine off the furniture and realized it was easier to just get furniture they can lay on. Both pups like to lay in a chair by the window and watch the people walk around in front of our house.

you're kidding about making out the pit bull's some kind of coo-worthy creature, right? they're mostly banned in australia. and with good reason. not. cute. at. all.

No chance of keeping Buzz our Jackchi off the couch...thankfully its black leather so not much of a problem...i am thankful that i never got the cream fabric one o longed for a while ago! You can see some pics of her lounging on the couch ...and the bed and the pouffe..!!!! here http://www.flickr.com/photos/blacklashes/3392801978/in/set-72157614915979197/

I do not, I cannot deal with futile excercises! :)

My life would not be complete without my dogs, they have free run of the house and the furniture. For being so small they so demand a lot of space. I would have it no other way. Fabulous post.

I have two black labs that are not allowed on any furniture. We've had them since they were 8 weeks old and trained them from then that furniture was off-limits. It's never been a problem. The cat is another story...

I love it when my Golden sits with my on the couch. It's leather, so it's easy to clean.

My little guy is only allowed on furniture with permission. He prefers the bed to the couch, though. He is so concerned with getting the green light that I have to tell him multiple times that it's okay to jump up.

BTW, I don't think the pit bull comment was really fair, nor is this the place to hash out the bully breed issue.

In love with this feature of your post so much so that I couldn't help but participate! I posted pictures of my own pit bull and mini schnauzer in chairs- www.highglossblue.blogspot.com
If you guys make a coffee table book full of all the pictures you receive on the topic, I promise to be the first to buy it!
Best,
Claire

I would LOVE to keep my dogs off the furniture - but it is absolutely impossible!

Awww, all these dogs are so sweet! Thank you so much for posting Lola's rump! LOL

Oh and seriously? Pit Bull bashing here? Cheap shot. And I'm being polite.

i could no more ban mona and richard from the furniture, then i could ban myself. it's their house too. so i live with stains (mona) and shredded silk (richard).

oh well, there are worse things in life, ya know?

How cute!!! The back of the sofa against the window wall is fair game for both of my cats...I don't like leather sofas, but caved, because they resist cat hair and claws. All in the name of love.

The pictures are stunning. Every one of them expresses how dogs exude Unconditional love. - BTW: I'm the aunt that loves her marshmallow niece, Lola (last pic on this post). I really feel sorry for the folks that aren't privileged enough to experience the love and happiness of this dog! When I do get to visit and take her for walks, she's treated like the mayor of Weehawken! Everyone knows her and stops to say 'hi'.

Yeah our two doggies LOVE my Karlstad's! 2 out of 2 of our bull terriers prefer sofa's to their own beds! :)

This is Basil on the sofa!
