I am taking a quick kitchen-painting break to share this beautiful church conversion in Byron Bay with you. It was featured on the lovely Citizens of the World and is the home of Amanda Callan, Andrew Morris, their son and their side project Church Farm General Store. I absolutely love this conversion. The original windows are gorgeous, the space does not read too much like a church, and they did not modernize it (which often happens and the results typically fail miserably). It is perfect. More details and photos (by Dominic Loneragan) are here.
I needed a little pick me up today, something to take my mind off the fact that I am already completely fed up with winter. These spaces are a bit more country/shabby chic than we typically post but a little diversity never hurts. And these photos make me smile, and think of summer and warmth. Thank you California interior designer Alison Kandler for today's virtual vacation.
Got a good book? Packed your hat? We might do some walking. Definitely the markets. We should be able to pick up some great fresh produce on the drive there so just pack some basics. I plan to cook up a storm in that kitchen. And some really good bath salts. Soaking for an obsecene amount of time is plan B. OK. I think we're ready. Love a weekend away in the country and nothing is more perfect than an historic house and a lush garden setting. Aghadoe Estate, Springmount, Victoria.
We don't post many traditional/country spaces here, I mostly don't because I am generally not a fan. But these spaces designed by Montreal interior designer Scott Yetman are an exception. I really enjoy these tranquil, liveable designs and their neutral colour palettes. There just needs to be a dog and some cats curled up in front of the fireplace and a cup of hot apple cider in my hand and LE SIGH.
