Grassroots Design

Along with this post comes a little story. The other day I noticed some fabulous interior photography by Ottawa photographer and the king of lighting Justin Van Leeuwen. He mentioned the spaces were created by local interior designer and small renos firm Grassroots Design. While perusing this firm's impressive website, I noticed they are located a few blocks from my house. Then while snagging some photos for this post, I discovered that the first 5 photos of this post are the kitchen and bathroom of the house next door to me! (The brick seen through the window in photo #4 is the side of my house). CRAZY! Anyway, their kitchens and bathrooms are the bees knees. LOVE!

Montana Labelle

Montana Labelle is a young interior designer from Toronto whose work I really admire. Her aesthetic is largely influenced by fantasy, luxury and most importantly, fashion (her mom is a fashion stylist) and it is all about lushness, glamour and intrigue. Her 700 sq ft Toronto condo is featured in the first 9 photos - what a fabulous home! Skulls, fur, zebra, quirky art...what's not to love?!

MHouse Inc. extras

A fireplace is the perfect place for a gorgeous pottery collection. 

I love this kitchen. The shelving over the windows is a bit odd but if you're lacking space, make it work! And I'm swooning over the legs of that dining table.  

More pottery in a beautiful grouping, this time paired with dishes in a kitchen. 

I need to graffiti something!
