Retro love

There is a part of me deep down that will always love mid-century homes decorated top to bottom in retro furnishings. Brazilian architect/designer Guilherme Torres has been featured here several times (my last post here) and often creates vibrant, modern, industrial spaces filled with colourful elements. This time he has the colourful elements in al their glory, but this time the architecture has a more mid-century vibe. Super funky.

LOVE!

This 1820's home is located in Santa Teresa, a 'hood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is GORGEOUS, and is the home of Bia Lessa and was completely renovated inside by architect Camila Toledo. The floor, the windows, the sleeping dog...I want it all! (Via arquitetura & construção)

Casa dos Outros

I stumbled upon a really cool Tumblr site (via casa.com.br) yesterday that I wanted to share. Casa dos Outros (House of Others) features many homes of "regular" folks around São Paulo, Brazil. It's similar to The Selby and Freunde von Freunden. Here is a selection of some really fun spaces I spotted there.

Milena Aguiar

I spotted the work of Brazilian interior architect/designer Milena Aquiar in a magazine I read while on holidays and her portfolio is full of energetic, vivid, no-nonsense-while-having-a-blast, colourful spaces that define the term eye candy. If neutrals are more your style, brace yourself.

More from Guilherme Torres

Brazilian architect/designer Guilherme Torres has a distinctive style that I love - industrial elements (hellooooo concrete - love the lighting strip), bold colour accents (often entire walls), large graphic artwork, and modern furnishings (see previous post here). Here are two apartments from his portfolio (both located in São Paolo, the first is 86 m² and the second is 49 m²). I seem to have an eclectic theme going on today, as it doesn't get more eclectic than this! Happy Friday!
