The latest happenings at 47 Park Avenue

It has been ages since I featured one of my favourite blogs, 47 Park Avenue (see here and here). Michael (and his partner Jonathan) are the proud owners of my dream home, and have been renovating and decorating it with so much love, creativity and chicness that I am blown away each time I see more of their progress. Take this bathroom for example. They had not touched it since moving in and Michael finally decided to have a go at it - on the cheap. Because how long can you live with a nasty bathroom containing carpeting (GAH!) and floral chintz?!

Michael ripped out the carpet, re-faced the tub with leftover chipboard (one of my favourite materials), used leftover paint on the wall, floor and ceiling, and picked up some tile paint to paint over the ghastly flowers. All Michael ended up purchasing (aside from the paint) was the light fixture and linen basket. Gorg!!!

Casa dos Outros

I stumbled upon a really cool Tumblr site (via casa.com.br) yesterday that I wanted to share. Casa dos Outros (House of Others) features many homes of "regular" folks around São Paulo, Brazil. It's similar to The Selby and Freunde von Freunden. Here is a selection of some really fun spaces I spotted there.

Moar please

I've been spoilt lately. Beautiful, original content has been mine for the sharing. The team at the generalist (my new must read) have been sending me images from some of my favourite homes, like landscape architect and TV presenter Brendan Moar's home. A retrolicious, colour saturated inner Sydney terrace house brimming with art, ceramics and glass. Of course the outdoor spaces play a major role too. Check out that deck! You can read more about Brendan's home here on the generalist.

Vintage chic

I adore this London home featured on The Socialite Family. It belongs to jewelry designer Emma Cassi and her family. There is nothing more cozy and inviting than a home filled with well-worn treasures. And in this case they're so well-curated that the result is pure eye candy. (Photos by Constance Gennari)
