RIOetc

A few months back simone had left a comment about a site called RIOetc that features "hipster houses in Rio de Janeiro". I had totally forgotten about it until recently and I was pleasantly surprised to find not necessarily what I would call "hipster" homes but some really fun and creatively decorated spaces. The site was started back in 2007 by Renata Abranchs (fashion consultant) and Tiago Petrik (journalist). At the time Rio had a bad rap so they wanted to praise their beautiful city through its inhabitants and their creative capacity in a positive, colourful way (or something along those lines says Google Translate). And they feature all sorts of other Rio goodies like streetstyle, music, and street art. My fav new site!

Latest from Casa dos Outros

My Sunday posts have been and will continue to be pretty random, as Saturdays I usually end up outdoors trying to enjoy what little summer we Canadians get and then am left scrambling at the end of the night - like now! But you gotta give me points for effort! ;) Anyhoo, it has been a while (see here) since I visited Casa dos Outros, one of the best 'everyday people's homes' type of sites (IMHO), from Brazil. Here are a bunch of my favourites as of late...

An eclectic home in France

OMG this home is A M A Z I N G! I spotted it on The Socialite Family and had to share. It is a glorously eclectic home in Nantes, France that has me devouring each space over and over again. I want to commit it to memory and dream about it every night. Yes, I love it that much. (Photos by Constance Gennari)

Our gathered home

I am not sure how I ended up on the blog Our Gathered Home the other day, but there I was and smitten I became. Our Gathered Home started out of a need to share honest, authentic homes lived in by real people, across the globe. Our aim is to showcase family life in a multifaceted approach to urban living. The homes featured in this absolutely lovely blog are curated by Matt Allison, whose own mid-century ranch in South Africa that he shares with his wife and 2 kids is featured (LOVE!). Here is a snippet from several of the home tours, including the homes of Robert and Judith de Graaff, Anki Wijnen, Maike & Travis McNeill, Tessa and Craig Harding, Kristin & Jonathan Rogers, Emma-Jane & Dylan Harbour and Rebecca & Bruce Meissner.
