Modern in green and black

I have fallen completely in love with this house. Modern. Simple details. Recurring circles (the firm's signature architectural element). Drama with green cabinetry, black walls and tumbling block tile. And if you ever needed to see wall-to-wall carpet in a bedroom done right, astroturf green for the win! A home in the Laurentians by APPAREIL architecture

What a dreamy, modern cottage-type home that was recently transformed by Montreal firm APPAREIL architecture. Built in 1922 and located in the Laurentian Mountains of southern Québec, this firm was challenged to create harmony between the exterior and interior, all with timeless and Nordic aesthetics.

The new façade is now punctuated with large windows, especially towards the rear of the house, opening it up to the surrounding forest. White was used throughout the house to give a bright and sleek look. Elements such as the kitchen ceiling and the thickness of some walls were preserved, as a nod to the past of the house and its many transformations.

A renovated Victorian in London

When old becomes new, and no expense appears to have been spared in the renovation of this semi-detached 4 story, 3,700 sq ft Victorian in Brixton, London. The dark grey stained herringbone hardwood floors are fantastic, and so much drama was added simply by painting the stairs, doors and their frames and some built-in bookcases black. This is classy yet liveable and significant attention to detail in the finishes. Glorious! Available as a location home through the one and only Shoot Factory

Glamorous Galah

"A forceful feminine approach was counterbalanced through the array of exquisite furniture & soft furnishings used with a striking sense of personality."

Hollywood Regency with a high end 80s vibe. A rich mix of pinks and burgundies played against black and grey. Brass and stone and feathers. What else could your glam heart desire? St. Ives Residence by Sydney-based interior design firm Designers in the City.

(A Galah, in case you do not know, is a beautiful grey and pink parrot native to Australia. If you look closely you can see a painting of one hanging beside the fireplace.)

Love

Love love love the black window trims in this apartment (via Entrance Fastighetsmäkleri) although I may be a little biased because my own doors and windows are painted black at home. So dramatic. So lush. So easy.
