Stalking a warehouse penthouse

I'm stalking the heritage MacRobertson building in the Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy. With its "industrial living with a minimalist, contemporary" bones this two floor penthouse apartment is overflowing with artworks, books and life's little treasures. And then there's the rooftop terrace with treetop views over the surrounding suburbs. I could see myself moving in and feeling immediately at home. Stalking on a Saturday

A glimpse of a very contemporary addition to the side of the facade is a dead giveaway that this home in Melbourne's Fitzroy North is not what it seems from the street. I'm stalking an Edwardian era red brick home with a industrial modern extension. "Seaside Residence was a partial renovation of a grand Georgian home. Our clients have a young family with 2 boys. An active life by the coast is ideal for them, and they wanted a home that was calm, but filled with personality - something young and fresh, that still honoured the traditional architectural style of their heritage house."

Melbourne-based interior designer Sally Caroline opened up the floorplan and created a sophisticated, contemporary look with statement furniture pieces and a colour palette that references the seaside location with soft neutrals and splashes of blue.
