Stalking a home in Toronto

Thanks to Lorena for sending us this link to quite a spectacular home currently for sale in Toronto. For those that don't know alot about real estate in this city...it is very pricey (maybe not New York prices but they are among the highest in Canada, beat only by Vancouver). This 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 20ft wide row house (you only get the middle - this home is actually 3 units) has views of a big, ugly apartment building at the front AND at the back, and is almost 4 million. WHOA. But the architecture and attention to detail throughout are fabulous and the homeowners have quite a unique art collection. And I am swooning over the flooring throughout most of the home. AND the fact that there's a fireplace in the foyer.

Modern with a focus on art

I adore bold, statement artwork and Jenn Feldman Designs seems to be of the same opinion as evident in this sweet modern home she designed. It could have come off as clinical and without personality but with bright colours and geometric shapes featured throughout the art it is just alot of fun.

River House by Monique Gibson

I. LOVE. THIS. HOUSE. And it all starts with the room above. Dark colours, plants and all windows, with an incredible lounge chair and ottoman. LOVE!!! This entire home is absolutely stunning in white, country chic with touches of Scandinavian and French, and every room is meticulously curated. Hats off to designer Monique Gibson for nailing this one. (Warning: There are some stuffed dead birds - so those who are offended by taxidermy feel free to skip this one)

Stalking a trophy home

I'm stalking Belhaven, one of Sydney's trophy estates. High on a ridge in the exclusive suburb of Bellevue Hill, it is home to Westfield executive and Brambles chairman Stephen Johns, his wife Michele Bender and their vast art collection. (Their neighbours are media mogul Lachlan Murdoch and his wife Sarah.) I'm not bothering with the listing's pictures. They do not do the home justice. The video does. This is how the other half lives unpretentiously in Australia. The home is expected to fetch $25 to $27 million. Link here while it lasts
