Ken Fulk - keeping San Francisco classy with his event planning and designer prowess. Why not stick your fiddle leaf fig on top of a cabinet? I adore the portrait gallery wall in the sitting room. If your stairs needs sprucing up, faux zebra is where it's at! And of course I have to bring up the extra large black and white stripes as a simple and effective dose of drama.
I love absolutely everything about this home in Noe Valley designed by Regan Baker. The bold, large photography art, the subtle moldings in the dining and living rooms (it just hit me that maybe this is what my dining room is missing!!), the midcentury furnishings, the brightness, bits of drama with colour, wallpaper or black walls. This beautiful home designed by Ty Larkins is glorious in all its shades of white with black and neutral accents. Earthy yet modern. Monastic modern as Ty calls it. The basic DNA of this "Belgium style" embraces spareness and natural light, judiciously excludes superfluous details, but retains the use of honest yet substantial building materials, some re-salvaged, seemingly to provide warmth, age and patina but in the context of a clean, pared down shell, a very careful balancing act to say the least. In an effort to balance our all of the newness of this newly constructed home and suggest patina and history, enormous 200-year old plus re-salvaged beams were installed on the 14' tall ceilings in the family room and lightly white-washed to slightly modernize their inherent rusticity.

I wanted to share this awesome warehouse conversion in London that has a bit of a twist. Someone clearly had a lot of time on their hands....and a lot of foam. The foam clouds likely help with the acoustics in the space, so it works double duty. I think it's a pretty cool art installment, and I would totally live with it no problem if I could have this loft. That much space, with up to 30' ceiling heights, and my cats would have a blast tearing around and trying to climb the foam. Available as a location property through Shoot Factory.
