AJS Design

AJS Design, an architecture, interior and furniture design firm, was founded in 1992 by Abigail Shachat and is based in New York. Part of her philosophy is "creating spaces that appear more destined than arranged". Her designs are destined to be modern, minimal and functional. Throw in a rooftop cabin in the city (see last 2 photos) and you're all set.

A little vacation anyone?

Dutch designer Piet Boon designs and builds homes, then takes on the design of their interiors as well. He once visited friends on the island of Bonaire, in the Netherlands Antilles of the Caribbean. He loved it so much he designed his own beach villa on the island and furnished it with his own creations. It is situated right on the ocean and is available for rent. More details here. Any takers?

Walker-Warner Architects

Walker-Warner Architects is a super-talented firm established in 1989 by Brooks Walter and Greg Warner that has completed about 200 projects all over the U.S. The homes featured on their website are breathtaking. They are all fairly rustic in design (not really my thing) but WOW, what incredible summer homes they would make. I highly advise that you have a look at their portfolio for many of the exterior photos of these homes.

Crosson Clarke Carnachan

New Zealand architects Crosson Clarke Carnachan design beautiful honest spaces in quite striking places. Strong locations need empathy and this firm has a wonderful grasp of place and purpose. "At CCCA we are constantly striving to understand what is motivating the world around us. As a creative team we observe change and this informs our ideas....CCCA believe good design will produce functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces and buildings that have an enduring quality over time." Inspiring work.

Rogers Marvel Architects

Rogers Marvel Architects was founded in 1992 by Rob Rogers and Jonathan Marvel. They are brilliant, and the huge list of awards they've won proves that. The views out of most of the windows in the photos below are incredible. Talk about modern highrise living in style.
