Piet Boon

Piet Boon is a Dutch designer who I've admired since I first saw his work. Jo posted about his Caribbean beach villa a while back and I thought we were very much overdue for another look at some spaces he has designed. Very organic feeling, rustic then modern at times but always minimal, his work is impressive. I want those outdoor spaces so badly it hurts.

J Weiss Design

Jennifer Weiss, principal of J Weiss Design and her team have a modern aesthetic but not cold and minimalist. No their buildings relate to the people who live and work in them. They are real, light filled, cleverly planned (check out that kitchen workspace!), luxe and livable. A well designed space is a luxury we all deserve.

Fiona Winzar

Australian architect Fiona Winzar's buildings feel like they should always have been there. This boutique design practice places great emphasis on sustainable solutions that are just right for the site. She is a dream weaver. Her clients' needs are nurtured and developed, nourished until a simple yet stunning design solution is achieved. Enough of the flowery text, Winzar's spaces are simply beautiful.

Albano Daminato

Clean lines, monochromatic, dramatic in its restraint and simply beautiful. The latest private residence by Albano Daminato (previously featured here). Design classics by Hans Wegner, Warren Platner, Eero Saarinen and Arne Jacobsen are combined with custom pieces and layered with the textures of oak, hand woven rugs and travertine stone adding depth to the monochromatic palette. Sometimes colour is just not necessary to make a statement.

Carter Williamson at it again

Shaun Carter of Australian architectural firm Carter Williamson sent us photos of their latest project. We've posted their work a few times in the past (see here, here and here) and this project, the Annandale house, finished this past Friday and it's fab. Modern, yet playful and energetic.
