A grey and white loft apartment for sale in Stockholm

I have a thing for grey, and so I fell in love with this 119 m² loft apartment in Östermalm, Stockholm as soon as I spotted it. White walls make a beautiful backdrop for grey here with subtle accents in colours via plants, the beautiful rattan pendant and the dining chairs. Lovely! For sale via Lagerlings.

House of Mirrors

Mirrors. They reflect light. They increase the sense of space in a room. They can mess with your mind ... in a good way in the case of the "invisible" pillar in this top floor apartment in Plaça Catalunya in the centre of Barcelona. The renovation by Nook Architects uses "contemporary and warm finishes (to) highlight the original envelope, which is only altered to bring back a spirit more honest to the building’s tectonics and to allow it to evolve to today’s standard of comfort and living style." In other words stylish modern living in an amazing old building in a great location. Perfect.

Stalking in Sydney 1

Today I'm stalking two apartments in Sydney. The first, in the suburb of Alexandria, is in an award-winning block designed by SJB Architects. Quite honestly I want to move right in but only if they throw the furniture and art in as well ;) Love the detail in the countertop and splashback in the kitchen, love how there is a cupboard for everything and how the master bedroom opens right up to the terrace. Now I just have to find the $1.6 million. Link here while it lasts.

A casually elegant apartment

Another fabulous project by Australian designer Claire Stevens, but much more subtle and neutral. When past clients contacted us with the news that they were relocating and down sizing from their family home in Toowoomba (the Toowoomba Residence) to an apartment in Kangaroo Point we were thrilled. Being on the ground floor with only Northeast facing windows and doors, a light colour scheme of white, grey and blue was employed to keep the apartment feeling fresh and bright. The kitchen and living areas were reconfigured to flow more seamlessly onto the external patio and garden, while bespoke cabinetry was installed to maximise storage. The result is an elegant apartment surrounded by lush gardens (a tribute to the client’s green thumb) that imbues a sense of relaxed comfort. Photos: Mindi Cooke

A classic six Upper East Side apartment

This Upper East Side apartment in New York is so dynamic with lots of patterns, colours, textures and artwork and shine. Perfect for a growing family who was looking for something family-friendly yet classically elegant and rich in colour. Beautifully done by Marks & Frantz
