I thought it would be interesting to show a home that is just about the exact opposite from my last post. This one is bold, bright, graphic and not at all subtle in its styling. Nonetheless, it is pretty cool too. By Barcelona interior designer Jamie Beriestain.
I dream about moving to a European city and living in an apartment with original details, herringbone floors and really tall windows and the decor would be sparse and vintage. I love Brazilian design. The work of their young architects and interior designers has a freshness, an irreverence, a sense of fun. It's a super cool mix of eras, of young and old, high and low. It provokes and cajoles. Casa Cor 2015 by Rio de Janeiro architectural firm Studio RO+CA.
Before I head off to a full day helping my dear husband with his Daff Design booth at the Idle Hands Art, Craft and Vintage Sale where I plan to get all of my Christmas shopping done, I thought I would share this glorious century old loft in Barcelona. Once belonging to the current owners' grandparents, the space was renovated and as much of the original detail restored while modernizing where possible. The kitchen is a fantastic, and the vaulted brick ceiling is such a beautiful reminder of the structure's history.
