I wanted to share this monochromatic dream of a home with you today because often black/white/grey and concrete don't get the praise they deserve. The clean lines, simple architecture and modern furnishings paired with the glorious Dinesen wood floors (my absolute favourite of all time) make this 371 m2 home in Risskov, Denmark by architecture firm Ardess completely blog worthy. In every way.
I do like a light filled loft. Yes I do. Almost as much as I love steel framed industrial windows, the tiniest touch of retro, books and all of the lighting in this light filled loft. Love the high concrete ceilings, the exposed pipes and the Douglas fir floors. Love it all. London loft apartment by Cloud Studios.
Like a new industrial skeleton within an old brick skin, this 250m2 warehouse conversion in inner-city Melbourne is a mixture of intimate spaces and open voids, family space and public face. I love the light that streams into the heart of the old building, the walls of steel and glass windows and the outside that is actually in. Fitzroy Loft by Architects EAT.
Jo and I are still in long weekend mode trying to recuperate from all the chocolate and general bad-for-you food that was consumed so I leave you with this fabulous home I spotted on Elle Decoration Sweden's website. It is vintage Swedish with a twist. Instead of pale wood against a white backdrop this home is filled with teak/mahogany tones which really pop.
