Just another quick home before we head into the weekend. The owners of this one are not afraid of colour. The colours they chose for their walls are beautiful. But oddly enough they left the easiest rooms to bathe in colour (in my humble opinion anyway) in neutrals - kitchen, bathroom and dining room. My favourite is the magenta bedroom. SWOON! The following villa on the Belgian coast captured my interest immediately. I have always loved a home that is traditional on the outside and not-so-much on the inside. I love anything with a shock factor. And this radically transformed home is just that. Traditional on the outside (complete with thatched roof) with a modern industrial vibe on the inside. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE a warehouse conversion. I love the space and the industrial remnants, the soaring ceilings and the often inner city location. It's gritty luxury and oh so hip but ... sometimes, just sometimes you need a little green space, an outdoor area to sit and see the sky and smell the smog fresh air. Now this warehouse has the perfect courtyard. I'd like to see this one in person. I have a feeling that its limited colour palette is a lot more serene and elegant than the photos suggest. But maybe, just maybe I'd throw a little dash of colour here or there. Link here while it lasts.

Helenio Barbetta is a brilliant Italian photographer based in Milan. His capture of interiors is perfection, highlighting everything demanding attention, and is beautifully explained in his bio: Helenio's pictures rebuild a mnemonic, sometimes absent landscape, made of real life atmospheres, where the story of his own life is described in spaces that work almost like loudspeaker of his emotions. In his subjects we find a melancholic vision with a taste of a remote past, unmoving but possible, rebuilt, stimulated and reanimated. His images are visionary maps speaking of feelings and making an abstract trial run of the memory.
